ha ha ha.

hillary is speaking better (for what i've seen). obama says "aaah..." too much. he should take a deep breath instead & talk continuously.

for example, in the "healthcare on cspan" issue he should have mentioned that he actually did that in illinois-- he held public hearings on the issue-- it's in a new republic article i just read.

he's not trying to put it on cnn to "get at hillary". sorry. but he missed to make that point.

I think he did mention this, he said "...as I did in Illinois.." a trillion times.

I think too much emphasis is put on how a candidate speaks.

no no, he expanded healthcare there but he didn't say that the cspan thing wasn't "a new thing"--

one cool & creepy thing about the ccn clips is that in some of them you can see the ticker measuring approval up or down. hillary got 10pts over him on health care, and i believe it's cos she spoke better.

dont' get me wrong- i dont believe what she says. but she speaks better in this context. where obama excels is in speeches, not debates.

Пятхъдесят Шест 01.31.2008 10:50 PM

I've not noticed the ticker.

The creepy part for me was the constant zoom ins of celebrities. It was more of a Hollywood premiere, than a debate. Red carpet event.

i know... i saw josh lyman!!! :D

for the ticker go to the ccn link i posted & click on the health care clips

not all the clips have this, apparently they are adding it-- they have some kind of focus groups

Say what you will about Hillary, and disregarding a look at her record or stances, I really do think she's the more articulate candidate. I'm sorry, I realize this is a bit shallow perhaps, but that matters to me.

that's what i said!

it's her record and stances i fear.

remember how bill used to run by polls?

gmku 01.31.2008 10:59 PM

Do not fear the reaper. She'll get us out of Vietnam, I mean Iraq.

Bill was a good runner.

Пятхъдесят Шест 01.31.2008 10:59 PM

I saw Stevie Wonder, I wonder who he is planning on voting for.

Ah, now I know what you're talking about. The focus group tickers, after the dabate where they are asked vanilla questions about the debate, with uncomplicated answers.

!@#$%! 01.31.2008 11:01 PM

no i think people click when they hear something they like the candidate is saying at the moment.

at least that's what i learned watching the west wing.

ha!

(nobody got my josh lyman joke? it's goofy i know but...)

I probably would have if picked up on the Josh line if any of the dialogue on West Wing had stuck with me, but all the banter in that show always went by at such hyperwarp speed that I usually had to resort to putting on the subtitle function.

is that they showed the actor who played josh lyman (deputy chief of staff), he was clapping, and it was a reality warp kind of moment.

he was more real to me than karl rove during the early bush years. pure escapism, i know.
