No Fun Fest is coming to Europe.
18-20th September in Fylkingen, Stockholm. |
Sounds cool, but somehow I doubt I'll be able to make it.

I was telling Steve that they definitely need to release this shit in some capacity, maybe SYR or NFP. He said they hadn't really thought about what they were going to do with it yet.

Looks alright, but not good enough to take a plane to Sweden. |
ok reposting e-mail from Carlos Giffoni (off his mailing list):
Thanks to everyone that made it this year to the fest, it was a blast and couldn't have gone better. We will be updating the site int he following week with all the great press the fest this year been receiving so far as well as pictures, and other surprises. in the meantime if you want to relive some memories or take a look at what you missed, here are some great pictures from Michael Muniak: http://www.muniak.com/nofunfest2009/ |
btw- I talked to Carlos at IPR last Saturday and asked him about this Sweden thing and he said the venue is pretty small so it will likely sell out fast so if you're coming from other countries might make sense to plan early.
Although now I'm not sure if just the party venue is small and regular fest is larger capacity... |

You could have quoted many more unsurprising names from the lineup. :) But yeah, it's fairly predictable... to me, so far it lacks any special names who are really worth travelling for, unlike what the NYC editions always seem to have. The European names I've pretty much all seen before, and most of the American ones tour Europe pretty often. I've yet to see Prurient and Emeralds, but I'm fairly sure they'll make it to Holland sometime in the future. There's a more interesting festival much closer to home that same weekend that I'll be going to. |
