That's exactly what I've thought about it. It is well-produced, the guitars sound good at what they do, and all that blah blah blah, but it's the song itself that doesn't do it for me.

Hopefully, like the last couple of albums, there will be 2 or 3 songs that will make me go ''that's good''. In the meantime, I remain of the opinion that in their official Sonic Youth guise they haven't written any songs as mindblowing as some of those on all the albums prior to 'Sonic Nurse'.

Hey, it's not the end of the world at all, just some personal opinion. If one really enjoys it, get on with it and be happy.

_slavo_ 04.21.2009 01:06 PM

Yes. In my opinion, the last truly great album as a whole was Murray Street.

atsonicpark 04.21.2009 01:08 PM

most definitely.

what makes sonic nurse not a perfect album? it's very sentimental for me, and my favourite I think. great tunes, changing rythms, very spacefull. from start pattern recognition - structure is impressive, one breakdown for thurston solo, than break for the end, yeah. then light as a feather unmade bed, I like the lyrics. speaking dripping dream with scratchy noise. ok one part that don't fits the album is kim g + arthur d handcream, but that's ok because then we hear stones, drums guitars and thurston vocal and that fucking ending is what I like. dude ranch has awesome riff, new hampshire is and I love you golden blue are ok, but peace attack beats them, this songs was my theme for some time.

you might as well go and take a strict walk around your house or strictly iron your shirts.
I'm in a strict mood!

mil_pl 04.21.2009 01:47 PM

discussion is over.

atsonicpark 04.21.2009 01:49 PM

You must spread some strictness around until you give it to slavo again.
