Yes but, this is a forum about SY, a VERY guitar-oriented band, and still you can find people here who dislike Daydream Nation, or anything else the band did record.
So why wouldn't electronic music be criticized, in that regard?

I am the hugest sonic youth fanatic, and daydream antion is my masterpiece for living, the only album I would take to a desert island if I had to pick, but I can understand why someone would have a difering opinion./

I think the whole point of this forum is to bring together disparate minds with dispaarte tastes who just so happen to overlap when it comes to sonic youth.

there are peopel on this board tha really do not like sonic youth's studio albums preferring the severity of their SYR series. There are people here who only like the first 6 LP's. It takes all kinds, yes, even people who HATE techno music.

I don't hate anyone on this or any forum. I make a very good internet impersonation of one who does, though, and mainly to entartain myself when I don't have anything better to do. Messing around with the medium and stuff.

Because Sonic Youth is one band, while electronic music is a whole culture (or rather, actually, many different cultures). You may criticize, I don't know, fidget house, or dubstep, or minimal techno, I don't know, whatever your taste is. But criticizing any music made with electronic instruments? Ridiculous.

In my opinion there is much more dull rock music than dull techno. And dull rock is REALLY, REALLY dull, to the point that it makes you want to puke, while you can often forget the super shit aspects of stupid techno tunes and still have fun - I did not say ALWAYS.

Is the unborn baby laughing with you or just just gave you a kick in order to get some peace and quiet? I can almost hear it going ''fuck, this will be my mother soon!''.
