Right, like you could even match my lightning fast reaction. My face would not even be there to take the punch. You'd punch thin air, and very shortly afterwards you'd have to deal with my hammer blow to your rib cage.

Don't mess with the gmku.

I agree there are only about 4 tuneful songs on Goo, but the noisy stuff is just as good. It's a great album.

noisereductions 09.19.2008 08:37 AM

GOO is fine and dandy, but it's probably the least exciting album to me. But y'know "Mote," "Mildred Pierce," are awesome and to be frank "Dirty Boots" is sentimental to me as it was my first Sonic exposure.

I like goos mood, and love mote on it. and ye there some catchy tunes like dirty boots and disappearer, but thats it

gmku 09.19.2008 08:39 AM

Really?! It's one I go to about as often as Daydream Nation. I also really like Dirty. I like that whole period of theirs from about 87 to 93 or so the best, through Experimental... . They're still good after that, but nothing, for me, compares to that period.

Cantankerous 09.19.2008 08:40 AM

dirty boots, tunic, kool thing, mote, disappearer, mildred pierce, cinderella's big score, and titanium expose kick ass. i hate my friend goo and mary-christ though.

experimental jet set is the shittiest record they ever put out (before they completely lost it and put out rather ripped)

al shabbray 09.19.2008 08:42 AM

I still like it, and I play it from time to time, but I think my favourite period starts with washing machine and ends with murray street + ddn and before.
but inbetween they were just not as exciting as the other parts for me. thats doesnt mean that I dont like it, its just not as good as some of the best records in music history for me

edit: and I still prefer experimetnal.. over rather ripped I like some melodies etc. from RR but the overall sound is NOT the SY I love

"My Friend" has got to be the worst song they ever released.

atsonicpark 09.19.2008 02:09 PM

yes.

aneurysm rules.

That's probably why I like Muddy Banks so much.. that version on there kicks ass.

greedrex 09.19.2008 04:02 PM

I love and worship each and every SY proper release.
sorry i'm a fan.
(yes, Rather Ripped was kind of meh, but still above any other band in the indie rock dept; 75% of it is really good songwriting albeit more straightforward and generic then anything else they ever put out before)
