I'm too old to be emo.
All these kids look like me and my friends in high school 20 years ago, except back then we were simply referred to as "those faggots over there," or "that kid who just got the shit kicked out of him at lunch."

I can't believe I am doing this.
OK, I went and found some vintage pix that I think might qualify, and photographed them at close range with my digital camera for extra shittiness. I have no scanner, but hopefully the graininess will add some extra emo-ness to this hilarious blackmail fodder...

Is that an item of fashion or christmass ornament of some sorts hanging on your neck?

k-krack 08.02.2006 07:54 PM

i think its some kind of small gamelan instrument.

Toilet & Bowels 08.02.2006 07:54 PM

what's going on in the second one? flock of seaguls meets whoever hangs lots of pennies around their necks?

Savage Clone 08.02.2006 07:57 PM

That necklace actually was/is my mother's. Vintage hippie stock.
She gave me the haircuts too!

I think the dreadlocks pic from 1989 is far more incriminating.
I had some more 80s ones that are even more hilarious, but I couldn't find them.
Perhaps that's for the best.

At one point, over a decade ago, I had side-swept bangs.
