Yeah I love "fuckwitme.." possibly the best track on MCHG, which (except for that Ill advised Nirvana "sample" ... Yichk!) was unfairly stepped on by all of us last year. I love that record now. Ha! And yes I will grab the G-Unit EP. The Game being absent is an immediate strike against it, in my opinion, but I'm planning on heading to Best Buy to pick it up tomorrow. |
Rick Ross is such an ambitious man. he's lost half of his weight AND dropped 2 albums, all in the same year! now that's motivation.
Hood Billionaire is a such a dope title. as for the album itself, i won't be surprised if we find out it's a collection of bunch of finished and unfinished songs that Ross kept in his vault. Quote:

I remember one guy who didn't step on MCHG...
@Louder, yup! I really finally got into Ross BECAUSE of all his cameos. "John" and "Accident Murderers" and "Monster" all blew me away. |
Quote:
His verse on "Monster" starts out with a bang, but because it's only like.... 4 measures at a 4/4; 8 at 2/2? it doesn't have a lot of time to kick ass, and the last measure ("...Kanye West samples / here's one for example..) really kinda blows. Probably the weakest lyric on MBDTF. Especially since what follows is not a Kanye sample, but a proper verse. The rest of his short cameo is goddamn incredible, though. But I think his contribution to "Devil In A New Dress" is probably his finest moment, if not his most iconic. His voice just goes so damn well with that track's spacey blend of tension-building relief, spacey imagery and almost classical melody... He makes that track stand out, and without Ro$$, it would probably be the album's most skippable track. It really is a good set-up for runaway. |
thing with Ross for me is that half the time it's not even what he's saying, it's his booming delivery. So I can agree w/ you, but still.
|
I think I like Hood Billionaire better than Mastermind.

Its motherfucking biologically impossible for my facetious negativity to lose its charm, its my X-Men super villain mutagenic power. You can't resist, its in my chromosomes fuckers!

Dude, I strongly doubt you've looked into, like, *any* of the recommendations I've posted this year. Even the new Game! You never followed up with me on that. And I know we have some overlapping tastes. Anyway, whatevs. Just remember I was the first ninja to hype Tree in 2013, and you LOVED him. If you're gonna be negative at least bring slmething to the table, like you brought Killah Priest last year. Ya'heard? Mmm, new Pusha T track is still so gods-damned dope. Got me on a Clipse fix. |
And what
|

... And what? That's not... umm.. That's not a thing, sfad. I really don't think "and what" is a thing yet bro. Maybe it'll catch on. Or maybe you accidentally hit "submit" after only typing 2 words. Either way, go listen to some goddamn hip-hop records. Underachievers have the year by the balls so far. But I think you'd like Diamond D's new joint, and I KNOW you'd love the new DJ Quik. Run the Jewels 2 is insane, and Snoop is dropping a new album (as the Dogg, not the Lion). |

yeah i'm sure SuchFriends would like the new DJ Quik, as well as Pinata if he gave them a chance. Pinata sounds like a classic 90's gangsta rap record, and features Scarface and Earl whom i know he's a fan of. hip-hop has something for everyone.

can also understand what you're saying louder re: pinata, seems to have the ability to appeal to purists/heads while also being an incredible listen to someone who isn't personally that big into hip hop (ie myself)
|
that Ultra album is so good.
|
Louder, in what universe am I not already bumping a dj quik record, in fact, a week and a half ago I posted about it but y'all didn't want to talk about it. And.. What
|
SFAD you're breaking my balls.

I just remember you asking why nobody told you about it. I replied that I figured you already knew. This was 2 weeks ago or something. Why so snarky-snark all of a sudden? Life got you down? Well me too... My life is hhhhhoooooorible right now. Just really really in the shits. Job troubles, people dying, other people relapsing on dope after years of sobriety. Not to mention the republicans swept the midterms and I fear for every single 98%'er living and working in this bullshit corporatocracy. But the café is problem free. Talking about dope music is the only thing I have to worry about here. Come back to us, SFAD! |
