yikes. i had a dream once where i set myself on fire and ran around. |
priest- we're set now for summer. there's four snares, five basses, and anyone that wants to be in pit is guaranteed a spot in pit. i guess i could ask but that would mean knocking off the poor freshmen who are REALLY EXCITED that the big kids are being nice to them.

Hello People.

Fair enough. I think I like the way that in America (it strikes me that) it is a natural thing for people to be involved in school beyond the compulsory lessons. It would be beneficial to have that kind of mentality here - I wouldn't want anyone to be forced into it, just for it to be seen as normal. The way we're going, even going to school for basic education isn't really compulsory anymore. |
Oh yeah, here our lives revolve around school. I think there is a lot of pressure for one to be going to school, or to do better. That is why we have o many after school programs, or learning centers and ll that.
Half of our schools seem to be calling themselves 'specialist sports colleges' for some reason. Or 'acadamies'. I don't understand it at all, but I think it means that the government give them more money.
There was some rivalry between schools, but not really very much. Unfortunately the school I went to was very keen on rugby, which manages the rare achievement of being a very very boring sport. We did have a cricket team which I joined, but I left in protest. I tried not to be involved much at school. I was bored, really, and I felt like I was surrounded by idiots. Looking back, I realise that I was indeed surrounded by idiots. By 'school', I mean up until the age of sixteen. After that it's college or university. |
I was surrounded by idiots at school too. Now in college, I met several cool people, but also idiots. I can't wait though for University which is next year, I may go to an art school.
Are you planning on a nearby university, or will you set sail for pastures new?
I wanted to go farther away, maybe New York, but I don't think I will have sufficient funds, so I am going nearby, and it is cheaper when it is home-state university.
sebastian- it's a whole new thing in our county for schools to have academies. it's essentially a school within a school.. mine has a finance academy, tech, and ib. the local one has teaching, culinary, and at least 30 more. we have a rivalry with said school.
i've been involved with a fair amount of school stuff. there's a lot more i could be in but honors society and band take up a lot of time with traveling, etc. |
Do you go to a lot of field trips? I never went to field trips in High School.
I did quite a few geology field trips in school, and a lot for geography in college.
Hi everyone.
I'm bored. AIM yourself, Jade! |
victor- we went around a ton for band. all county, state, solo and ensemble. and football games. long bus rides home..
Cool, I always wanted to go to field trips, but was in the lower classes.
when i was in junior high, for field trips, we always went to this museum that was one of those science but fun places.
OH I always wanted to go to those museums.
i went there when i was like 8 or 9 when it was first opened and it was awesome, but then every year from 7th to 9th grade it was like "guess what? we're going to a field trip" "where?" "to universum (name of the museum)".
we were sick of it. |
Funseum.
