I've seen some people bell ringing. Looks like it takes a lot of effort.

Hip Priest 07.11.2007 06:43 PM

The church I go to uses a recording nowadays (sign of the times, I suppose). People are always surprised when I tell them that it's a recording, though - you'd never guess. The adjoining parish uses proper bells though, and apparantly they are short of ringers ('campanologists', I'm told), so I'm thinking of joining. I know a couple of people who go there, but I don;t know if they do the bells.

The bell I rung on Saturday was one of the ones at this very old and lovely church in Neston about ten miles from us: http://www.parishofneston.org.uk/

A recording! Bleeeeh!
Blasphemy! That must be some form of sacrilege, no?!
hehe

I'm off, guys. Good night!

Well, hopefully it's not that bad. It's so convincing in fact that people think I'm joking when they hear it.

Danny Himself 07.11.2007 07:05 PM

Still, as convincing as it may be, the more people switch to recordings the faster people will forget how to ring church bells and then another of our arts will be lost.

Hip Priest 07.11.2007 07:10 PM

I agree entirely.

And on that note, I must bid ye goodnight.

Danny Himself 07.11.2007 07:17 PM

bastard, it's not spanish. we took years killing muslims and spanishs, building our own independence and culture, so dont call me spanish please.

Danny Himself 07.12.2007 12:54 PM

It's Portuguese. I guess to english eyes it looks similar but if you ever hear it being spoken it sounds nothing like spanish.

portuguese sounds much better and it's a much more richer language, but spanish its much more fun to hear.
