Result: didn't get a first kiss, but did get to hold hands on the car trip back. Also feel bad because they spent some time in a back room (they were feeling a bit out of it) and I didn't keep them company, but we're going to hang out again soon.

(As it turns out, my ex is doing better for themselves than I am.)

I asked them to be in a relationship this morning. (I know, it's really cowardly to do it over text, but since we're a hundred miles away from each other and I didn't know when we'd come into contact again, I figured it was worth the risk.)

After a bit of flattery and the question, they said that they didn't know (they've never been in a relationship). I offered having a few dates to try something, and they said maybe.


So we're now trying to arrange a time to hang out, probably either this weekend or next. So I guess...it didn't fail?

One of my best friends this year (and the cause of more emotional angst) was a girl who I'd originally had a crush on but eventually went to just being friends, I buried it a little.

Then again, I haven't talked to my ex in months - we've drifted apart, and it looks like we're staying that way.
