i think there's actually a thread up now about mixtapes somewhere. or maybe i dreamed it. this forum was in my dream last night.
Sounds interesting schizo. Anyway, I searched "Mixed Tapes", & it didn't show any threads. So, maybe there's still hope.
I saw one too about 2 days ago. In regards to that Are we actually going to do that SY board mixtape?
oh.
guys. we almost got 2000 posts
Now we're one closer.
My mixtpe was good. In my opinion. But it's my mixtape, so no surprise. First person to pm me an address gets a cassette sent to them, recorded from vinyl! (!!!) |
im listening to lee ranaldo's eat jesus. it's alot like the SYRs. very noisey. but fun to listen to
Cassette awarded. Offer npow closed.
This is a great mixtape. Listing: The Art of Noise - Closing Gaye Bykers on Acid - All Hung Up Bogshed - Jobless Youngsters The Fall - Hit The North (part four) Sheep on Drugs - Fifteen Minutes of Fame The Jesus and Mary Chain - Taste of Cindy Steinsky and MAss Media - The Motorcade Sped On Big Stick - Jesus Was Born (On An Indian Reservation) The Barmy Army - Sharp as a Needle The Bambi Slam - Don't it Make You Feel... Propaganda - p:Machinery These are some great tracks. I'm glad it's gone to someone young, as they probably won't have heard much of it. The SYR's are possibly my favourite Sonic Youth thing - they're an original thing for a band to do. SYR6 is a real favourite because a. it's great, and b. my friends just don't get it, so I use it to annoy them. |
that tape looks cool. i've only heard of two of those bands, the fall, and the jesus and mary chain
The others are a real mix. Post-post-punk to electro pop. Split evenly between guitar-based and non-guitar based.
You'll enjoy some, at least. It sounds good as I'm recording it. |
just 100-something posts left.
that's a neat mix. |
1,876 posts n this thread. All quality and informative stuff.
Hi schizophrenicroom, hope you're doing well. |
sabastian, is your avatar from those fabric softener comercials?
No, it's Paddington Bear.
Do you guys know Paddington Bear? |
is he in books?
Ha ha......it's a shame you don't know the glory of good ol' Paddington Bear!!! He was the best:D
My hero since childhood.
Originally from books (by Michael Bond), then a tv series (from whence the avatar comes). Then they made a pretty bad cartoon about ten years ago - not a patch on the original. |
he really looks familar. was he on nick jr?
Why is there blood spattered on his wall? I know there's a can of red paint there, but what an odd color to pick to splatter on the wall of a children's book...He's obviously wallpapering, there is no need for it...
