i think my system gets too hot, so i think lowering the temperature would be a good idea. the fans may be fucking up and i need better air circulation

That would be the first thing to check, either cpu or gpu temps too high = automatic "self-preserving" shut down of the system or unexplicable freezes.

guess you have stock coolers on both cpu and gpu?
Any intake/exhsaust fans on the case?
