I forgot he did Malcom X. That movie's awesome.
I hated 25th Hour, Summer of Sam, and some recent movie he did I can't remember the name of... Dog Day Afternoon is awesome. |
Ah, it was called "She Hate Me". That movie suuuuuucks.
|

Maybe I'm wrong. And it's been years since I last watched it. But isn't the riot basically a metaphor for self-destruction? I mean, it's like F it, let's just burn this whole place down. |

Yeah. Great cast. Great realization of the Richard Price book. I liked a lot of Lee's movie's really. In fact, and many people disagree, I thought that SUMMER OF SAM was really, really good. I felt like it was not what people expected, but it was really well done. I think people thought "oh a movie about Son Of Sam" but really it was just about that neighborhood and how they were effected by what was going on at that time. It was literally just some peoples' lives during that summer. |
Yeah, I didn't go into it with any expectations. I just found it boring with characters I hated and pretty much plotless. I understood the point of the film and so on, I just thought it was.. uh.. pointless. Haha. You know what I mean.
I can see why it would have its fans, but I had that same problem with 25th Hour as well. Just felt really... I dunno... like there was nothing to it. Didn't have any substance or value to me. |
I havent seen 25th yet. I did wanna check that out. I was also interested in WHEN THE LEVEE BREAKS, but I have to like put aside half a day for that one.
|
PS, did you ever see TALES FROM THE HOOD? Lee produced, not directed, but it just reminded me. It's actually a lot of fun.

This is a great movie. I actually believe it's style is the basis for most of my nightmares. |
severe deja vu.... didn't we just discuss Spike Lee not too long ago? like when i made a thread about him being a guttercunt?
|
I dnt know.
|
Iron Man, I thought it was rubbish!

Casino Royale.

I need to watch this before Quantum of Solace comes out. Only a month left now. |
Oh, jesus, man, you haven't seen it yet!? It's on Showtime constantly.
|
Oops:o I forgot to put "again". I've probably seen it on the order of a dozen times.
|
Oh. I feel better then. And good for you!
I watched it the other night with the sound completely off. I could recite almost every line. How sick is that? |
It's not bad. There's far worse that you could recite...say 99% of Damone's and Spicoli's lines from Fast Times At Ridgemont High.
|
Ha, yeah. Love Spicoli's lines in that movie, though. The bit about flying out to party with Mick and Keith. Funny movie, in my humble estimation.
|
My comment was said in jest because I'm well on my way to being able to recite the lines of those two characters. Fast Times is indeed a funny movie.
|
In twenty minutes, Bladerunner.
For a class. |
Cool! Great movie.
|
Batman Forever

Often when my wife and I are out to dinner and the waitress comes over, I say "the lady will have the linguine with clam sauce and a coke -- no ice." It's a classy move. |
Muscle Beach Party
surfin, surfin, in our tight trunks and little bikinis, and dancin in the sand in our skinny white jeans, as we sing along to a bunch of new swim hits and fight off muscle-bound jerks BUT wow, what a cast! Dig this: Annette Funicello, Frankie Avalon, Don Rickles, Buddy Hackett, and even Stevie Wonder (!) back when he was called Little Stevie Wonder. |

Often when I'm out with my wife, I'll order a vodka martini. The bartender will ask if I want that shaken or stirred, and I curtly reply, "Do I look like I give a damn." Classy move. |
Tight.
