Grinderman Opinion

Hey. I've heard of the band grinderman and found out they are going to be playing near me. I've never listened to their music or anything. Are they any good? Should I go see them?

terminal pharmacy 06.14.2007 01:56 AM

ummmm buy a ticket immediately

Bollocks_to_Pop 06.14.2007 02:03 AM

What are they like? Tickets don't go on sale for a couple more days by the way.

A Thousand Threads 06.14.2007 02:04 AM

Grinderman is coming to your town?
"You gotta run, run, run, run, run
Take a drag or two"

Bollocks_to_Pop 06.14.2007 02:31 AM

I've never heard any Nick Cave or Birthday Party stuff. Always has been on my list just more towards the bottom.

well you should go, you might discover something you like

Bollocks_to_Pop 06.14.2007 02:57 AM

I just found out Slint is playing Spiderland just a couple days after that and I'm seeing SY play Daydream the same week so now I might see Slint instead since I can't afford to see all the concerts and be able to keep my job. I don't know, still haven't decided yet.

Norma J 06.14.2007 03:02 AM

Fucking go and see Grinderman!

sonicl 06.14.2007 03:07 AM

Bearing in mind how much Grinderman tickets cost, I'd go to their myspace (www.myspace.com/grinderman) and have a listen to what's on there before shelling out any money.

I'm seeing them next week.

Bollocks_to_Pop 06.14.2007 03:17 AM

Thanks. Listening to No Pussy Blues right now. Pretty damn good actually.

nicfit 06.14.2007 03:22 AM

At least half of the album is REALLY good, the other half isn't on the same level, but it's till more than simple fillers in a row. Guess they're a great live band, too.

Landry 06.14.2007 03:23 AM

Good stuff.

JohnEsmoke 06.14.2007 05:19 AM

Grinderman is my favourite album of this year (for the moment !) It's a great noisy-melodic music with a weird violin ! You can notice that the drummer is called Jim Sclavunos...

gmku 06.14.2007 08:21 AM

Grinderman is one of my fave new LPs. It rocks.

PAULYBEE2656 06.14.2007 09:39 AM

grinderman rocks and remember thisis nick cave playing guitar only one month after first picking one up!

go to both slint and grinderman............

_tunic_ 06.15.2007 11:27 AM

yeah, just skip sonic youth :D

re: grinderman: I'm a huge Nick Cave fan, and I was a bit disappointed with the Grinderman album as it's not a regular Nick Cave album, but perhaps I should take it another try.
But it's Cave and Warren Ellis of Dirty Three too, so it will be a good show for sure

edit: for samples of the full album check out www.grinderman.com

For real?
That's messed up!

Dead-Air 06.16.2007 01:48 AM

I think it's the best damn thing Cave has done since Your Funeral My Trial, which was mid '80s. I wasn't even expecting to like it, but it blew me away to hear him rocking that hard again.
