MBV come home!!!!! (sorry, another mbv thread)
as everyone and their dog knows my bloody valentine are set to reform, release a new record in april and appear at the coachela festival in the summer........
but now they are in talks with irelands electric picnic festival..... i for one am fucking stoked by this...... also i never knew this existed..... ![]() |
^Yeah that book was written some time ago, i still want to read it badly though.
Where'd you hear the Electric Picnic thing? seen the new interview? |
yeah, i knew it existed, but i didn't buy it because i heard it didn't contain much info about how the songs were constructed, something i'm interested in..

The picnic talks thing was mentioned today in some national paper and on the hot press site. coachella havethe same partners an organizers as the picnic crowd and the bands generally work with both fesivals. oxegen is another fest over here and thats for drunk kids and shit bands like razorlight and stereoeoeoeoeoeoeophonics but they throw money at bands to play it, they outbid the picnic.
bjork was to play oxegen this year and the picnic had to offer her a huge amount to not play......... oxegen= shite, picnic= class festival.... the fear this year was that battles get offered a huge amount to play 2pm in a tent at oxegen instead of picnic at midnight in front of a huge crowd..... its possibe as battles are fucking uge in ireland, theyve played here 6 times in the last 18 months and the last gig was their biggest crowd ever anywhere! anyway i digress....... yeah seemingly this isnt a rumour, its official news....... |

Somehow I missed that they're set to reform.
I'm really excited about that, and I really didn't expect it. Someone will probably point out that every band from that era (including Nirvana) is bound to reform, and I knew that K. Shields had said in interviews that he felt MBV needed to make another record. But I always assumed KS was just too lazy and the other band members would never want to. So I really hope I get a chance to see them play. |
not to flood the board wit another mbv thread but...
this gig is happening ! mbv to play at home, big yay! |

Here's the latest from Billboard:
http://www.reuters.com/article/enter...30957120071123 Sad to say, no mention of any more gigs than the ones already announced, and a flat denial of playing Coachella. |
ok........
whatever...... |

i read tht in some site or something. its kinda vague "mid april" so add or take 6 weeks away from that. no definate date as such......
the alleged summer festivals have been denied by the band managemnet but i know that they have confirmed "some significant festivals in summer 2008" none of which will be mentioned or announced until around march/april i reckon. as for the electric picnic, that may not be announced until after the tickets are released... which is the norm. by the way, the cheaper early bird picnic tickets are now sold out... i got mine and saved 70 euro each on them! |
you know they are half british...
