Who has played Super Mario Galaxy?

In a word, you can't describe it in just one. You have no idea until you play it

The most fun I've had in years with a videogame. It's better than perfect. This and Portal are the two best games out right now. Shigeru Miyamoto is a genius.

touch me i'm sick 11.15.2007 08:12 PM

Great game so far.

101)

super mario 64 is my favorite game of all time...but super mario galaxy may
go down as the greatest of the franchise.

pbradley 11.15.2007 09:01 PM

I wish I had a wii and a television to play it.

atsonicpark 11.15.2007 11:31 PM

Yeah, I work at a Wal-Mart, and I finish my work early and go hide in the store, and the other night i played this for 2 hours. It was pretty cool, it felt kinda ... by-the-book ... you know, kind of what I was expecting... but the controls are great. And it was fun. I prefer the new Paper Mario honestly. Not to mention New Super Mario Brothers. I'm not too big into 3D anything (see games like Contra, Castlevania, Mega Man, and Metroid which all got worse when they became 3D) ... (notable exception, as usual: Zelda)

Anyway, it's pretty cool, I'm VERY excited for the new Smash Brothers, of course. I'm uh.. something of a champion Fox player... I won some competition that had like 48 people competing.. I got $200 for it. Haha. I love Smash Brothers...

But yeah. This game is definitely worth getting if you had a Wii. I waited in line 17 hours last year to get one for my girlfriend. I don't really want one, since there's not many games on it that are interesting to me YET.. Metal Slug Anthology was a reason to get it, but it's on PS2 now too so.... I mean, seriously, the Wii kinda blows.. like 3 RPG's.. though at least the new Geometry Wars just came out and the new Fire Emblem.. I think it'll be getting reeeeeal good soon, and you'll probably see me splurge for one when Smash Brothers comes out. But for now, I'm content to play it at my girlfriend's house. I mean, I'm just now catching up on Gamecube games I missed (almost done with Skies of Arcadia)..

It is amazingly fun.

One more day of school, then Thanksgiving break. My wii and I will have a hell of a time together.

atsonicpark 11.16.2007 07:19 AM

Reminds me of the time when I got ocarina of time and spent all thanksgiving playing it. Best thanksgiving ever.

fishmonkey 11.16.2007 01:28 PM

i'm just after buying it today, so i'm looking forward to playing it later on.

SYRFox 11.16.2007 01:28 PM

I don't think Metroid got worse when it got 3D... Metroid Prime is my all-time favorite game... And Metroid Prime 3 (which I finished last week) is totally great, controls are really intuitive...

Rob Instigator 11.16.2007 01:32 PM

Still don't have a wii. :(

I am probably going to buy myself a copy of the Orange Box soon. I don't know, I might wait awhile and upgrade my RAM

atsonicpark 11.16.2007 08:53 PM

bought mario galaxy today for my girlfriend.

Also.. I have the first two metroid primes, and they just.. they're okay... I dunno... I just hate first person shooters, I'm not BIASED against them, I just don't like going around and shooting things in the first person perspective, not to mention doing things like jumping is always needlessly tricky... I think Metroid Prime is probably the best single player first person shooter ever... But to compare them to the best game ever, Super Metroid? Metroid Fusion?! Metroid II?!?!?! No way..

SYRFox 11.17.2007 06:29 AM

Well, I can understand you don't like first person shooter. Plus, I didn't get into Super Metroid when it got released, back in 1995, it may be a reason too... But I really think that Metroid Prime is better. They totally recreated the atmosphere of the 2D Metroid in a 3D game, just like they did with Zelda. I really love this game

atsonicpark 11.17.2007 08:14 AM

Actually, I just got into Super Metroid 2 years ago, after beating Metroid Prime. About 2 hours into Super Metroid, I went, "This is the greatest fucking game ever."

Ripchord 11.17.2007 08:22 AM

My brother just got it for the Wii. We're going to start playing tonight. Excitement.

EyeballGrowth 11.17.2007 06:17 PM

This game buries Twilight Princess. Twilight Princess is okay but the controls aren't that great and in my opinion, the wolf was a beating.

Are you CRAZY?

jennthebenn 11.17.2007 06:40 PM

crazy? that's for the courts to decide. it's merely my personal taste. it's my FAVORITE game to play, but not the best i have played overall. any number of games from the zelda and metroid
franchises, to touch on just a few, are BETTER games.

just played SMG at a Wii kiosk. the learning curve is superior, it was
a flat-out fantastic (albeit relatively brief) experience. pantophobia and i
will attempt to pick up a system tomorrow. wish us luck--or don't.

drrrtyboots 11.18.2007 01:59 AM

It's in the mail shipping to me now so I should be getting it just before Thanksgiving when I also have plenty of free time to play it. I'm gonna get so wii-tarded from overplaying.
