Will twitter replace facebook to any extent? I would like to hear your views on this.

Facebook just updated itself to be as fast as twitter. Twitter certainly is cutting into Facebook's crowd, but I'm sticking to Facebook.

It may replace facebook. I actually learned about Twitter from these boards. But I don't have an account.

I'm not getting a twitter account. I regret getting facebook and am hoping that it becomes obsolete because it's difficult to get rid of it.

Facebook absolutely pisses me off now. It use to be way better until they came out with the new facebook.

facebook is too much like... going to the video store with unpaid fines. You go back in good faith to have a look and see if there is anything there that will interest you.. and you are bombarded with all of these fines/invites to things you dont want and forms you dont want to fill out and the fines are for videos you dont remember even hiring or asking for and its just all too much trouble so you walk away/altf4

Thats how it was for me, anyway.

It's pretty easy for me to ignore the most annoying parts of facebook. I don't mind it but I only check it occasionally.

What I do mind, though, is the next stupid name they come up with for the next online networking gimmick.

twitter just seems like facebook with all the decent elements removed and the idiotic elements turned up to 11

FuckFacebook. Hate it. The idea that people I went to school with are still alive, able to operate computers and able to contact me fills me with horror and revulsion. They can all fuck off and die.

God bless Twitter. 140 characters is about as much of other peoples lives as I can take. (Plus it is ideal for link sharing, one-liners, news summaries, Q&As, book recs, invites, pics, haiku, random fuckery...) Its internet distillate. Brevity wins. Soul of wit, innit.

You guys are totally on top of the new, underground fads that will be blowing up into the mainstream real soon. I'll have to investigate.

I thought these things were already mainstream.
