K-L-F... uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh.
don't forget them. |
What about that "Barbie Girl" song by Aqua? haha
|
Quote:
That is pure death. |
hah believe me, I know.
|
Are you kidding me?! That huge list and no where to be found is The Macarena, QUEEN of bad instant pop hits.
|
Quote:
Ha! I love KLF - 3am Eternal is one of my favourite singles! I don't know offhand if it was 80's or 90's, but f****** Ride on Time by Black Box or whatever absolutely did my head in. And anything by Celine Dion or Whitney Houston. |
The Macarena :D :fuckyou:
|
my flesh started crawling just looking at that list...
|
haha, great ideas! :) how could i forgot barbie girl and macarena? :D
|
Gala - Free from Desire (the "My love got no money- He's got strong beliefs")
Roy Vedas - Fragments of life (excellent song, pure pop, vocoderish vocals) sash - encore une fois the army of lovers also (crucified, sexual revolution)- but that's too kitsch i like 90s pop. nostalgia - I was a teenager then. Do you think there's gonna be a 90s revival/backlash? |
You're missing Scooter from that list - Back in the UK would be my nomination. As it happens I really like a couple of tunes on that list (Venga boys' Boom Boom Boom Boom; 2Unlimited).
Also, I can't remember if it was 2000's or 1990's, but that ketchup song was fucking ace. Also, definitely not 90's, but in that category of 'should be horrible but is actually better than 99% of things is Special D's Come with me. Which is probably me showing my raver side. |
Nirvana-smells like teen spirit............
|
"Who Let The Dogs Out" (it's 2000 - close enough)
(apologies to anyone who gets that stuck in their head) |
2 unlimited have some great songs. no limits is a very powerful song. if i had the chance to get the 7", i'd totally go for it.

hey, gala and roy vedas are totaly amazing that i totaly forgot that they exist, but now i downloaded it and can remember, really 2 amazing songs. if i think there will be a revival? i think there is no real need of revival, because the same kinda music isnt even dead yet :D it just lives on with Deep Dish, DJ Sammy, Eric Prydz, The Shapeshifters, and so on, but the quality of this kind of music in the new century is much better i think. yeah, i forgot scooter too :) and haddway, and john secada and culture beat (mr. vain), and so on... keep on posting... i didnt even expect to get so many good ones, some of which have totaly dissappeared from my memory :D |
The Ketchup song. I fucking love that song. If you can find it, there was a song called, I think 'poing' which was the sound of a ruler being twanged a lot. It was hilarious, once.
|
![]() i have this lp. it has the great hits girl you know it's true and baby don't forget my number on it. and a gatefold cover! |
This is off topic, but Glice, you might know this - I can't for the life of me remember the guy that did "Boogie Monster" - Armand something? I fucking LOVED that song.
|
Quote:
armand van helden :D, i dont know this particular song, but his song "my my my" is totaly amazing! |
The most annoying pop (s)hits from the 90's in my opinion:
Spice Girls - Wannabe Toni Braxton - Unbreak My Heart Michael Jackson - Heal The World U2 - One; Discotheque 4 Non Blondes - What's Up Shaggy - Boombastic |
Apart from Shaggy, I'm totally agreeing with that list.
|
Almost forgot:
The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony (although i like it) Radiohead - Creep |
That and history were good singles I thought. Awful lot of shite otherwise mind.
|
ok, i think you guys are almost not sticking to the topic ;) okay, verve, u2, faith no more, i mean, they might be stupid, but i am looking for this really instant pop hits, mentioned on the first page, you know ;)
|
Have you mentioned Mr Blobby, Bob the Builder and the like, or are they a different category? What about Peter Andre and Hanson, have they popped their heads up yet?
|

Thanks, I've been trying to think of that for ages. He was the virtual king of cheesy club music. If you were at a club/rave and Boogie Monster came on, everyone went WILD during the buildup in that song. |
I can't believe no one has mentioned "Right Here Right Now" by Jesus Jones yet.
God did I hate that song. |
smells like teen spirit
|
I could be blind, but no mention of
La Bouche - Rhythm is a Dancer (I hated that song but it was huge) Technotronics - Pump up the Jam, and whatever that song is that goes "Get up get up get busy do it (I'm too tired to think of the name) And did C+C Music Factory get a mention? They were the BOMB |
Pump up the Jam - CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOn.
(Now, where did I leave those glowsticks...) |
Quote:
Fucking Right! I hated pretty much everything out of the 90s that got played on the radio. I'm so hip! I'm so indie! I have a cordorouy jacket motherfucker! |
Hmmm.....is Teen Spirit really that bad compared to the horrible songs listed here that you could never seem to escape back then (even though it's quite obvious that you guys get hard ons for bashing Nirvana:D )? Come on. Would you rather listen to Whitney Houston doing I Will Always Love You?
|
(choosing this moment not to call attention to the fact that Mr Asche was soiling his diapers when Jesus Jones was in ascendancy...)
|
Yeah. I can still hate the fucking song though you old geezer.
|
I guess you're entitled to that, ya ankle-biter.
|
Ankle-biter? I'm probably taller than you are.
|
Maybe so, but "whippersnapper" was too stupid.
|
Good point. I probably would have gone with 'fucking imbecille' or something of that nature.
|
i like girls that wear abercombie and fitch
chinese food makes me sick and i think it's fly when the girls stop by for the summer for the summer summer girls - lfo ... or, the light funky ones. egegegege and no one's mentioned how bizarre yet either. double gross. |
