I agree with Rob... 1 in 100 people in America has molested a child. 1 in 4 people in America was or will be molested as a child. 1 in 3 women will have been molested or raped. These are quantifiable facts. This means that its ALWAYS somebody's uncle, cousin, brother, father, teacher, coach, pastor, neighbor, babysitter, etc. Of course, the knee jerk reaction for many people in this situation is, "It can't be true, not MY uncle..cousin..brother..father..teacher..coach..pa stor.. neighbor..babysitter.. etc."

The reality is, yes, in most cases yes it was. Now is this absolute? No. Hardly. Several times entire classes have lied and accused their teachers of molesting them, turns out they didn't like their grades or their last math test. Retaliation. So we should always be cautious, but we should NEVER immediately discount or discredit accusations simply because we'd rather believe the accused than the accuser.

I have dealt with this over the last 7 years with 2 separate loved ones. The reactions they got from people were so wildly accusatory and vindictive. Fuck people.

On average 1 in 10,000 priests molested a child.
On average 1 in 100,000 school teachers molested a child.

there is no statute of limitations for child abuse in connecticut. no statute of limitations for the most serious violations in new york, 30 years after the minor turns 18 for the less severe varieties.

i've read a lot of stuff, not just dylan farrow's letters, which has its own quirks, but reports of how mia farrow showed the investigators a heavily edited tape that looked very suspicious. i've read statements from soon yi and moses about mia's abusive/brainwash ways, i've read mia's tweets boasting about balling frank sinatra while his widow is still alive, i've read various vanity fair pieces that side with farrow, i've read the daily beast writeup by the guy who did the woody allen documentary which sort of exonerates woody or at least questions the accusations leveled at him, i've read collections of woody allen jokes that could be construed as proof of his pedophiliac tendencies, i've read all kinds of things really, i've read myriads of comments from people who project their own traumas and their own defenses onto the situation, and for all the back and forth and finger-pointing i see no reason that people should rustle up a mob and lynch anyone just yet.
