I've had this on pre-order for ages now from Nihilist records. When I emailed Andy Ortmann last week about dates, this was his reply:

Looks like the first week of May.
Just sent the art for the jackets in today.

Thank god for that. I was in the same boat as val-holla-ing, wondering if I was ever going to get what I paid for. I don't mind waiting for ages, just so long as I know that's what's going to happen.

Perhaps if you have ordered something from the label you would have some idea of delivery time. PRE-ORDERS start two weeks before a CD/LP ships and usually ya get a deal for ordering early. All orders are shipped weekly. Anytime there is an issue with the post office not delivering mail it is always tracked down or a replacement is sent. This LP is on NIHILIST RECORDS not Blossoming Noise. Andy Ortmann of Panicsville runs NIHILIST and does great work (I definitely recommend checking out his records). He is really going out of his way to make this special for everyone who orders it. The LP will ship soon from his HQ in Chicago not from Blossoming Noise. Thanks to everyone who ordered CAN'T WAIT!

I heard from him that the LPs themselves have been delivered, but he is waiting for the printed sleeves to arrive from the printers still.

i just checked the nihilist records website and it says that the LP will be shipping in the third week of may, but that's already passed. maybe it'll show in a couple days?

I got mine in the mail Saturday. I think he is starting to ship stuff out now. They look pretty fucking awesome - mines a neat marbled dark blue!

Hooray! Hopefully I might see mine before the weekend.

I just received my personal copies in the mail from Ortmann today. Turned out slick. I think he has sent everything out at this point & it should be on it's way. I would hold out as NIHILIST is a stand up guy that has always come through for me... but if you or anyone does decide to cancel the order or has not picked it up yet I will have copies available through http://www.blossomingnoise.com ... These will ship out right away with delivery confirmation etc & should be posted in the mail-order by tomorrow (07/06/07).

thanks. i've never ordered from nihilist before this, but i ordered the merzbow turmeric lunchbox/cd set from you and it came top notch, so if everything doesn't work with mr. ortmann, i may have to check you out.

Thanks from me too. I'll give Nihilist the benefit of the doubt for a couple more weeks (I'll hope that the guy who runs it has been too busy getting the records made to deal with correspondence).

Val-holla-ing: Seeing as you're in the same country as the records are being sent from, it's reasonable to expect you'll get yours a good few days before I get mine. Could you post in here when you get it (assuming that you do) please?

I give up. Time to order through Blossoming Noise instead and try to get the money back that I paid to Nihilist through Paypal. :(

and no one's acting like a kid. we're just kinda upset that we never got something that we paid for, which is, uh, kinda fucked up.

I see nothing childish about being pissed off that I've given someone $26 and got nothing in return.

As my emails aren't getting through to you, I've PM'd copies of them to you.

Both my copies arrived last Thursday here in Dublin, Ireland. Hopefully you guys can sort something out. Andy - the packaging is great, and the blue marble vinyl looks sweet.

The copy I ordered from Blossoming Noise (having given up on Nihilist) has turned up safe and well. Three cheers for Blossoming Noise!

And, seeing as email to ortmann(at)nihilstrecords(dot)net doesn't seem to reach Nihilist, I've resorted to good ol' stone age snail mail to try to contact them to get back the pre-order money that I sent.

I guess there's a moral to this story, and I guess that moral is to always establish e-mail contact with a label before sending any money. Trusting that the email address on the website will work isn't necessarily a good idea.

The moral is that you should stop looking into the threads I open (first the original silence one now this). :)
