Is Pussy Galore a good band to learn the guitar with?
 

I suppose the answer is no, but I'm having more success getting to grips with their stuff than most of the other bands I've tried learning from. Julia Cafritz is TOTALLY my Bert Weedon. So, any other newbie guitarists out there, take my advice: get a copy of Right Now and throw on your most beaten up black leather jacket. You'll never look back, I promise.:cool:

i wouldnt say pussy galore is the best band to learn to play guitar with i would say pussy galore is the ONLY band to learn to play guitar with.

Yeah, I'd love to learn some Royal Trux stuff but Neil is a seriously talented guitarist and I think it might be pretty difficult for a newbie like me to get his head/fingers around

I don't think Harry Crews had a Pussy Galore connection. The drummer, so i recall, was a woman who, I think, was a wrestler prior to playing in the band.

EDIT. i remember, the drummer was bob bert, ex s/y, i knew there was something significant about the drummer!

The drummer on the album was definitely Sadie Mae.

Besides, given that Bob Bert hasn't exactly been Kim and Thurston's best friend since being kicked out of SY, It's hard to imagine him being that into playing drums for one of their side projects.

Maybe people are remembering him playing drums in Ned Hayden and Julia Cafritz's band Action Swingers.
