Favorite Star Wars movie?

I like A New Hope the best. And, as far as the new trilogy goes, I like them in this order 3, 1, 2

fishmonkey 03.02.2007 07:16 AM

good thread finding nobody, i am a self confessed star wars nut.

i picked Empire.

_slavo_ 03.02.2007 07:28 AM

the Empire strikes back !

nicfit 03.02.2007 07:50 AM

stop posting my thougths, you _slavo_ guy!

demonrail666 03.02.2007 07:59 AM

Empire's cool but it peaks too soon. After the battle sequence on Hoth it loses something and even the 'I'm your Father' shocker can't compete with AT-ATs.

king_buzzo 03.02.2007 09:25 AM

4-6, ftw

floatingslowly 03.02.2007 09:48 AM

Empire Strikes Back

there are no stupid ewoks, gungans or children to get in the way of the dark side!!

god I love the dark side!

PS: Star Trek is for GEEKS!

right on sonic brotha.

Trasher02 03.02.2007 11:05 AM

I really liked the Phantom menace though a lot of people thought it was crap.

pantophobia 03.02.2007 11:35 AM

i'll say it, overall i liked all of the movies

there are a lot of subtle little points of the new trilogy that i like a lot, how winding it is, how Palpatine controls everything even when he hasn't asserted himself

timtimtim 03.02.2007 12:56 PM

in order
5,3,6,1,4,2.
I liked all of the films except episode 2 was pretty weak. If it weren't for the poorly acted and written love scenes the new trilogy would have been great.
and Star Trek isn't so bad.

Toilet & Bowels 03.02.2007 03:59 PM

i can't believe someone voted phantom menace, it's not funny if they did it for a joke either

Toilet & Bowels 03.02.2007 04:25 PM

to be honest, i'm surprised that they even included them the new films in the poll actually.

Pookie 03.02.2007 04:40 PM

I have a real soft spot for the first film (ANH). I remember going to see it at the cinema when it was first released (I was 10) and it blew me away.

It's hard to imagine now just how different to anything else it really was.

well how would you rank each one?, how would anyone rank them?

i'll start off

Empire - 5 stars
New Hope - 5 stars
Sith - 4 stars
Jedi - 4 stars
Phantom - 3.5 stars
Clones - 3 stars

!@#$%! 03.02.2007 05:48 PM

they are all shit, but maybe the first two are the best. i mean chronologically, i get messed up with the fucking "episode" thing.

the one i hate the most is the one with the fucking eewoks. eewoks! organized chipmunks beating heavy weaponry with logs and ropes? pleeeeease.

the last 3 i didnt bother to see except on borrowed materials. fast-forwarded through most of them, shit that they are.

Norma J 03.02.2007 05:55 PM

I'm not overally fond of the new movies. Although I've only seen the first one, I think. But the trilogy is fantastic, many memories.

Star Wars - 5stars
Empire Strikes Back - 5
Jedi - 4 (minus one point because of the ewoks)

the rest - 0 stars

deathbyfeedback 03.02.2007 08:41 PM

who the fuck voted phantom menace?

Norma J 03.02.2007 09:58 PM

I like the ewoks.

Lethrneck4 03.02.2007 11:17 PM

well, RETURN OF THE JEDI is obviously the best one, it doesnt even need an explanation as to why. Empire is a close second, but i dont liek things ending on a down note. the ewoks were there, as were the gungans and so forth cause star wars movies, deep down are for kids.we loved them as kids, and kids still love them. Lucas killed ROTJ in his speical edition remake of it, replacing the final ewok song that since i was a kid, meant the end of the star wars trilogy, with good winning, and evil getting its ass kicked again

Androol 03.03.2007 03:28 AM

empire is so overrated

krastian 03.04.2007 01:48 AM

My head says Empire, but my heart says Jedi......I went with Jedi.

Cantankerous 03.04.2007 01:53 AM

i love the trilogy. i saw phantom menace in theaters way back when and i haven't seen any of the other new ones based upon the strength of that one. it was shit.

Pax Americana 03.04.2007 02:13 AM

Empire.

The one George Lucas had the least to do with, and SHOCKINGLY it's the best one. All of the original trilogy is titz though.

k-krack 03.04.2007 02:16 AM

Jedi, bitch. Shouldn't've even bothered putting the new pieces of crap...

pantophobia 05.24.2007 06:42 PM

30 year anniversary of Star Wars tomorrow

but the real question is whether Toilet can watch it the whole way thru it without thinking about how he hates the other trilogy

my money says that he can't

Everyneurotic 05.24.2007 06:51 PM

the only one i can sit down and watch from beginning to end is the first one (star wars aka new hope), the subsequent two i can fathom by leaving them as background noise.

the other two bored me to sleep and i never fall asleep during a movie i haven't seen or have seen just once, but i slept during the freakshow menace at the theater and bukkake of the clones made me sleep when i saw it on tv. i didn't even bother to see the revenge of the herm.

youthoftomorrow 05.24.2007 06:56 PM

Empire Strikes Back.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.24.2007 07:33 PM

This is the order for Star Wars movies by awesomeness:

Empire Strikes Back > A New Hope > Return of the Jedi > Ewoks: Caravan of Courage > Ewoks: Battle for Endor > Revenge of the Sith > The Star Wars Christmas Special > Attack of the Clones > The Phantom Menace.

I think CGI + Lucas's growing ego ruined the franchise.

barely a day goes by where i am not reminded in some chance way or another of the foul mockery that is the false trilogy.

pbradley 05.24.2007 08:04 PM

the epic lightsaber dual, the sheer assload of tie fighters, Lando not being a prick, at-st's, the cooler looking death star blowin shit up, the dark mood throughout... I go with Return of the Jedi. Empire gets love, too. The Hoth battle scene is legendary.

musicfallinglikesnow 05.24.2007 08:11 PM

Empire. Although my first experience was with Jedi. And no special editions with this one, please.

pbradley 05.24.2007 08:17 PM

I haven't met one person that prefers the special editions.

And I hope I never will.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.24.2007 08:40 PM

The special editions could have been so much better. I like some of the little things they did- like when Han runs after the stormtroopers and they turn around they added a hangar full of stormptroopers behind them, which I thought enhanced the scene. But you get one of those moments for every 5 CGI jabba, ronto, worker droid, Jar-Jaresque comedy, and Han shooting 2nd type moments.

pantophobia 05.24.2007 08:59 PM

well when they did the dvd, they fixed up jabba, so he no longer had those big pupils and his color looked better, every thing else is a bit of a stretch, he has a very corny sense of humor

luxinterior 05.24.2007 09:39 PM

I guess I missed this the first time around.

The Empire Strikes Back is just about perfect.

Silent Dan Speaks 05.24.2007 09:54 PM

A New Hope is my favorite. What's with all the hate on Episode 2? It's way better than the Phantom Menace.

pbradley 05.24.2007 10:01 PM

I always found the Cloud City part of Empire rather boring.

musicfallinglikesnow 05.24.2007 10:29 PM

The only good thing they did with the Special Editions is in IV when Chewie and Han are running away and the stormtroopers first say, "close the blast doors" and then "open the blast doors"...Before the special editions they didn't say the first one so it didn't make sense. Other than that, meh.
