Lee & Steve at 'The Bells: A Daylong Celebration of Lou Reed' - LIVE STREAM! JULY 30!
![]() YOW! How come this hasn't been posted? It's this freakin' Saturday! SOMEBODY PLEASE CAPTURE THE STREAMS! The details: Quote:
http://www.lcoutofdoors.org/events/t...on-of-lou-reed |
Hmm, http://70.32.78.35/sonic-cal/functio...&showCat=&oc=1 says "Lee and Steve are both performing in the afternoon session". No mention of playing at 11:30 AM ("Those aren't rock & roll hours" —Paul Westerberg). But still! Take no chances!
|
thanks! so is it on this Sat. and can (where) you stream it?
|
http://livestream.com/LincolnCenter/...ou-reed-part-1 seems seems to be the link for the live music. I think it starts at 11:30am but will continue with multiple guests, not sure if Lee/Steve join up later or...? Huge fan of Lou's music so I'll probably just tune in anyway. This whole day looks amazing, actually!

It's working for me. Was "Men Of Good Fortune" the first song played or did I arrive too late?
|

First song up on the stream was the one with thirlwell, didn't know the song. they had been playing before the stream worked so who knows what we missed. freaking sister ray:eek:  |
Quote:
Yes, that was "Men Of Good Fortune". He threw a Trump reference in there, as the song demanded — "Men of good fortune often cause empires to fall [...] Men of good fortune very often can't do a thing..." |
Watching the stream now, so far we've got:
Ocean (Lee vox) Temptation Inside the Heart Run Run Run Sweet Jane Lee and Steve on all but "RRR" so far. HOLY FUCK they're starting THE BLUE MASK!!! DAaaaaammmmnnn never thought I'd hear Lee tear into this one! EDIT: Wait it's fucking Disco Mystic?? HAHA set list: Ocean (Lee vox) Temptation Inside The Heart *Run Run Run Sweet Jane Disco Mystic I'm Set Free *I'm Sticking With You I Believe in Love Sister Ray Lee and Steve on all except * "Disco Mystic" was amazing...the whole thing was actually pretty cool as a big Lou fan! It was a bit Velvet heavy but I understand why. I hope someone can capture it. |
It looks the archived stream has less songs than the original stream...
|
I missed it. have to check archives..

:( I forgot about something called time zones when planning to watch the stream live... why separate knob why?? |

I've already tried three different Firefox add-ons that promise to capture Flash videos. All I got was a buncha unplayable files with the ".undefined" extension, which apparently means the bloody video is "protected". Fuck this. I've done what I could. Now you fuckers have less than 24 hours to capture this shit or I will send all y'alls a massive trojan virus. :D |
"Ocean" was in the middle of the set - not sure why the live stream starts there - I think they were having trouble capturing it early on...
Before Ocean was: REAL GOOD TIME TOGETHER-Willie Mae Rock Camp I HEARD HER CALL MY NAME-Yo La Tengo ROCK AND ROLL Jesse Malin ECSTASY Joan as Police Woman WHITE LIGHT Felice Rosser CHELSEA GIRLS - tammy faye starlight MEN OF GOOD FORTUNE JG Thirlwell VENUS IN FURS Jon Spencer I WANT TO BOOGIE WITH YOU Matt Sweeney |

do you want me to capture the stream? I can try it. am I limited time/wise? I am watching the stream now and it is still up. I will try it in the evening hopefully. I can capture video without audio straight away, just to figure out how to record it with audio together. |
them colour humans on the stage...wtf?
|
O. k. here it is. don't ask me how I did it. after one hour of researching the net and trying few different ways I have managed to capture it in HD and as a .AVI format. it is about 1.3 Gb size. for a flash video it is in very good quality. video is uploaded via WeTransfer serice, download link will expire on 7th. of August. plenty of time. I did not capture evening program. only morning one (with Lee and Steve).

Hi Lee. are you running on Mac? my Quick Time Player does not want to play the file as well, but VLC player does. maybe it is a matter of codec. I hope file itself did not get corrupted while uploading on WeTransfer servers. If The Soup Nazi could confirm if he has problem playing it. maybe I could try to convert it to Quick Time Player format somehow too. |
CORRECTION TO THE BELOW - I UPDATED VLC AND NOW I CAN SEE THE VIDEO---THANKS.
I wish you could hear Matt and Alan more on Ocean, and Kenny on the keyboards... L Hi - yes I'm running a Mac - and neither VLC or QT shows the video - only audio. I dropped the file into Final Cut and it too could not find the video... Thanks- Lee Quote:

Fantastic! What a touching tribute. The Bells is one of my favorite Reed albums too!

so half of the morning set is missing in the webcast?! what a pity! had to be a blast event! glad the video is playable though. |
From Uncut:
Watch performances from Lou Reed tribute concert Taken from YouTube... I wonder whether they're all audience-shot or there's stuff from the webcasts there. |
Ocean... What a great version on Live 1969 album!

Check out Lee bowing his guitar on "Ecstasy" at the Uncut link above. This was probably the tune I wanted to hear most out of what wasn't webcast.
Though this is making me crave one of the incredible 10+ minute Lou versions from his later tours. Gnarly sax, squealing Lou leads, aaaah. |

i have checked Ecstasy from the Uncut link above. brilliant. |
