best song on rather ripped. best sy song since free city rhymes.
|
I love it

I'm loving this album more and more. Although I like 1KL, I have noticed myself listening to this album much more than 1KL when that came out.
I feel SY has had a Rebirth of some sort. Best SY in probably a decade, I absolutely love what they did with this album. It's short, sweet, to the point, and more active. I think that's why it's closer to GOO & DIRTY. There's only 1 song clocking over 6 minutes. |
i love it
|
I have a hard time believing this is the best they've released in a decade. What about WM, murray street and nurse? three albums that deserve to be in the top 6 at least... From what I heard in the gigs in France, they could've used Jim especially in some parts where noone was singing, sometimes they seemed to jam around without really new ideas ( middle section of reena) but then again the tunes are so catchy that most songs are more than ok.

Washing Machine came out in '95. I was referring to material from '96-2006. 1KL was ok, I thought that was a more "transition period" for SY, going into more longer format songs which I thought were ok, but not as great as the shorter, direct songs. NYG&F was IMO their worst album ever, Murray Street was just a step up from there with Sonic Nurse being the best album during the O'Rourke-era. I'm always going to love Washing Machine more than Rather Ripped, but I think Rather Ripped has easily beat out any album during the O'Rourke era. Maybe Rather Ripped rivals 1KL right now? Just my opinion. |

It's sounds so pop rock, it's like rock riffage and pop melodies. how do u not love it?
|
I like it. I know it will grow on me, since I've only listened to it twice. Now I'm going to wait.
|
It's catchy. I approve.
|
good song. can't wait for the official release.

It's alright, but there are far more better SY songs...............to be honest I think every song on nurse is better than that song(yes, even kim gordon and arthur doyle hand cream!)

The opening two tracks off the new LP can be streamed at the homepage. Click here!

good song
|
two facts that need to be taken into consideration here:
a) this is a kim song. b) kim is ON KEY. that makes it good right there. |
i don't like it too much...kim's songs on RR are weak, except Jams run free.
