Пятхъдесят Шест 03.27.2007 03:12 PM

Nothing sexier (or more frustrating) than a sturdy glass bottle of ketchup.

SynthethicalY 03.27.2007 03:18 PM

Repped^

So porky what the hell is that thing in your first post.

noumenal 03.27.2007 03:24 PM

Drinking your tea with milk isn't just for the British.

SynthethicalY 03.27.2007 03:24 PM

Mmmh so it taste like beef boulion, I want to try.

edit- Also the milk with tea, what kind of milk is better for tea? 2% reduced, whole milk, skim milk, soy milk?

Tell us more about the time you spent at the school for the blind.

SynthethicalY 03.27.2007 03:36 PM

I still want to know what is the best milk for tea.

Пятхъдесят Шест 03.27.2007 03:38 PM

Nothing, but its of Chai variety that I like anyway. Milk makes more sense with Chai.

SynthethicalY 03.27.2007 03:39 PM

I ALWAYS WANTED TO TRY THAT CHAI thing. (sorry my caps lock where on before I realized, and too tired to hit the back button.)

sarramkrop 03.27.2007 03:40 PM

''We're the best. Do you know why he thinks so? Because apparently other European milks are generally heavier tasting and too full-flavoured for milk tea drinking. ''

marmite and vegemite are similar products. salty, savory. don;t [put too much.

Green_mind 03.27.2007 04:13 PM

Marmite is great in the right quantities, its a very strong taste.
Only british have milk in their tea? This is crazy talk!

Norma J 03.27.2007 04:18 PM

Vegemite is fantastic - Marmite is not. Different things all together.

I love vegemite that much I found a vegan alternative called "Vege Spread".

jon boy 03.28.2007 04:51 AM

your wrong. marmite is far superior in every way to vegemite. as your clearly mentally unbalanced we will overlook this indiscretion.

Marmite tastes like your opinions and your contraction of "you are": Shit. :p

Personally, I think semi-skimmed milk is the best for tea. Full fat is too creamy and skimmed milk is just crap in general. Also, soy milk, especially the sweet tasting stuff, is an absolute no-go.

Iain 03.28.2007 06:59 AM

Also, it doesn't surprise me that a lot of Europeans don't drink tea with milk. When I went to Germany and Poland, all I could find was UHT milk, or something similar, and that is disgusting. If that's all I could get then I would drink it black as well.

Norma J 03.28.2007 06:59 AM

I have black tea but many have milk or soy in it.

atari 2600 03.28.2007 08:22 AM

that's what i was thinking..vegemite...and the Men at Work's "Down Under."

I tried a little of that stuff once and it's quite the peculiar substance for food.

I had a similar problem in Greece, when I was given evaporated milk to put in my coffee, which was gross. I've drunk my coffee black ever since.

I have no tea-related anecdote, I'm afraid. Sorry for going even more off-topic.

Soya milk is very nice, as is rice milk.

Kate says that rooibos tea tastes like graves.

sonicl 03.28.2007 08:47 AM

Remind me to turn down any invite to afternoon tea that you ever give me *.

** Unless it's soya ice cream, in which case I reject again.

No soya ice cream at my house.

Talking of horrible ice cream, have you tried Skinny Cow ice cream? It's the weirdest thing you'll ever taste, and absolutely nothing like ice cream. It's got a grainy texture and it's impossible to lick!

sonicl 03.28.2007 09:00 AM

Jane is rather partial to Skinny Cow ice lollies. The minty ones.

She's welcome to them as far as I'm concerned. As I keep telling her, I'd rather be fat and happy.

lucyrulesok 03.28.2007 04:22 PM

marmite is delightful. i don't think ive ever eaten vegemite but i've heard they're pretty much the same.

Soy icecream is great. Well the So Good soy milk icecream is. Not sure if I've tried any other. But people who try my soy icecream love it. Alot of people can't tell the difference and the only difference I've heard is that it's richer in taste - I'd have to agree.

Marmite is significantly different. There is similarities but I love vegemite and think Marmite is foul and that seems to be the general consensus from us skips. Marmite is far more bitter in taste. I guess it's whatever you're brought up on.

As for why it's not vegan? I gave it up originally because it's made by Kraft and then I found out it can contain beef as 6 months of the year it's produced on the same machinery as the prduce of beef.

I'm happy with my Vege Spread.

ZEROpumpkins 03.29.2007 07:13 AM

Mmmm, vegemite....good stuff.
