For God's Sake! Have you never heard of Google? :) http://mutant-sounds.blogspot.com/ The album is 'Torso Kurten - The Fraternity of Torture' |
Holy crap man, that's great!!! Congrats!!
I'll have to check it out. |
Well done man.
|
Cool !
Gonna check it out as soon as RapidShare stops bitching. |
ssssweet...
waiting to download... damn rapidshare! |
did you share this back in the day of the ysi threads at the old board?
i remember you posting something by your old band there. |

Not the same. The stuff on Mutant Sounds predates it by about 10 years. It's a bit more 'experimental' (God I hate that word!) No guitars, in fact no proper musical instruments at all. |
i'm almost there-- installing winrar!
|
Interesting stuff. I'll have to listen to it a few more times though.
Congrats! |

Thanks for the feedback. Glad you like it.:) |

errrrm....thanks? |
oh hey man i downloaded & heard
loved it chicken at 23 sounded to me like a soundtrack for a brothers quay movie not that i remember their soundtracks, but the mood... side 1 was great, i loved it. side 2 was a bit too dark for me, spooky w/ the murder readings... maybe if i'm not using is as background music! ive been replaying the 1st 2 tracks i mentioned since yesterday thanks for sharing them! |

It's great that people can finally get to hear them after 22 years! Thanks for your comments, sounds like you gave it real good listen - did you manage to listen to it all in one hit? |
sure did-- after all it took me QUITE A BIT OF EFFORT to get it from rapidshare-- they are worse than a government agency, ha ha.
i'd play it again as we speak but madame is blasting this old billy holiday record we have and i can't interrupt it. -- ever thought of making sountracks? -- ps listening again-- somehow it matches my current dark mood |
Now they've posted two of my old albums!
Crazy. "Red Ampersand" and "Red Mantra" by Salamander are both up there now! Recorded mid to late 90s; some studio, some cassette 4 track. This is fun for me to see, especially in such good company. |
gems.
and holy ass, man, youre right above reynols |

Congrats!! Downloading them now. |

I've only been able to download the first one up until now. Gotta wait 83 mins before I can download the other. R.A's Carved into Water is pretty spaced out. Great stuff! |

I saw Red Mantra in a store in Amsterdam about a couple of years ago (I didn't buy it though, sorry!), but I haven't seen any Salamander elsewhere in the shops here. I'll check them out and also Florya's album.., I hadn't read this thread before and until now thought that he mentioned one of the rare cassettes he'd copied from his colection rather than actually one of his own albums... :o |

Well, now you don't have to! I downloaded Florya's album, but I haven't listened to it yet because I want to give it my full attention. |
I'd feel bad "stealing" from you, but since you insist on it...
|
This blog is as fine a way as any to fall prey to piracy.
|
I bought two Salamander CDs. I demand have my money back.

GULP! :D |
I've bought both the Salamander albums around the time they were out, plus i have a few other records on Camera Obscura, including a rare compilation that caught my eye because of the awesome cover art. I was obviously ahead of my time, but that's no secret. Florya, i haven't listened to your album yet, but i'll do so at one point.

So far I've listened to Red Mantra and it's really awesome. Can't wait to check out the other one. :D
|
mutant sounds is always rulin...
|
I've heard some of Florya's musical history, and it's fascinating. The guy was fortunate enough to be "there" during an era that most of us just fantasize about. If he wrote a book, I'd buy it.

Nefeli - That's so good to hear! I'm so happy that it still has some relevance 20 years later.:o |

You ain't seen me, right! :D |
one of my fellow conspirators from my noise making days found an albums worth of tracks on an old cassette in a bin bag at his mums house last weekend. How apt.
He brought it round to mine and we listened to the music for the first time in 20 years. Considering we had no viable instruments, no proper recording equipment and basically no idea what we were doing, the quality of the sound ain;t too shabby. The weird thing is that the music actually scared me! I had forgotten how dark it was. Really creeped me out. He's taken the tape away to try and clean up some (not too much) of the hiss, and we're thinking about giving it a limited release sometime in the future if we can find a way of letting people know that it exists. Watch this space. |
OK. A couple of the 'new' tracks are up on the Organs of Battle MySpace page. http://www.myspace.com/organsofbattle
If you have the time and/or inclination, please give them a listen and let me know how you feel about them. I would post more, but the 6Mb limit on MySpace is a killer. |
good shit. friend request sent
