Who were you in High School?
Breakfast Club Style
![]() The Princess The Athlete The Brain The Criminal The Basketcase So who were you?, i secondary school (high school) i was very popular until about year 8 (7th grade) when i kinda alienated all my friends with my taste of music, then i got bullied for a while, then i found new friends and school was great from then on. So i guess i fit in with the basketcase group, as i was never smart or and athlete, a criminal or a princess. What about you? |
I don't think I was any of those, I was just one of the quiet guys.
You need options for "the quiet one" and "the nerd". |
at one point or another i was kinda all five, although change 'princess' to 'preppy' which was kinda what Molly Ringwald's charater was "a preppy princess" but primarily a basketcase
one of my favorite movies |
can you edit poll's ?
|
you need options for "class clown"
that was me |
A mixture of a loner and a mildly popular guy. I always hung out mostly with people who came to study from outside my hometown because the majority of the kids where i was born are wankers and they felt they'd treat small village students like they knew nothing.
|
you left off GAWTH, so I went with criminal (that's just as true).
I wish I could have been a princess, then I could have ridden unicorns. :( |
I was a "goth" kinda dude in middle schooll.
In high school, I discovered Melt Banana, Atari Teenage Riot, Mr. bungle, and all sorts of "weird" bands and people thought I was weird on the bonus. So, I was the weird kid.. who was well-liked. Kinda liek now. |
The Princess.
|
33% brain 33% criminal 33% basketcase?
|
I was the basketcase. I was a smart kid in high school, in all the advanced classes, but I was the most likely to say something to make you squint and tilt your head to the side. I made jokes that nobody laughed at, and I had friends, but I was always sort of on the outside of groups.
|
i was the basketcase but so quiet no one ever knew whay i was upto most of the time. i got away with murder.
|
i guess basket case- a running theme on here- Quiet and excelling only in art class and writting reviews in the school paper saying "Nurse is Sonic Youth' most commercial album since Dirty" when almost no one knew what i was talking about when i wrote about doolittle.
it was awesome, headphones kid. I can also qualify for napolean dynamite in middle school and I can sound just like the guy- which was cool until everyone started relating it to me-- and by that point it was too late- for my yearbook quote-- at least it'll effectively be something for people to remember me by. |
I don't know. I think I was cool enough, though plenty of people probably did not think anything of me, there were others who tried hard to impress me.
With that said, I'm going to have to vote for "The Athlete." |

There should have been an option "Weird cool kid".
|
i forgot i was also an "athlete" but i always hated sports-- buried memories!
i'll have to rearrange those percentages... |
I don't like classifying people or being classified, for that matter.
We are all different, that's what makes life interesting. |
I'm the 'outsider'
|
The people in high school didn't really give a shit about my music tastes, event though I talked alot about music. Now however, my classmates are making remarks about my liking for extreme music and noise. I know they're joking but occasionally it gets on my nerves, as it seems they think noise is the only kind of music I listen to.
Not that I really really bother to care. |
All of the above, well, maybe not a "princess," although I often was accused of being either gay or snobby.
I spent my sophomore to senior years at a AAA high school in Georgia. I was valedictorian and won countless academic awards. I wasn't on the football or basketball team, but I was the tennis team star. (I would always win the running and standing broad jump on field day in elementary school too.) I was already using marijuana and other substances. I am, obviously, a "basketcase" as well. Case in point: After first moving to the new school, I didn't know anyone, but quickly became very well-known. There was this one teacher that always looked like she had to take a shit. She was a rather tall Scandinavian-looking woman with the last name Wolfe. Anyway, as I mentioned, she had a reputation for not taking shit. One morning it had been raining and I came in late and she was handing out a test, and I forget what happened exactly but she made some comment that my hair looked like a wet cat and I just walked out of the class. She came outside and I must have said something to her to make her lose it because she stated yelling and she shoved me against some lockers. At that point, I just ignored her again and started walking to the principal's office. The upshot of the story was that she got suspended from teaching for a few days. As it turns out, her husband had just been in a car wreck the night before and that's why she was on edge. Anyhow, the principal decided she needed a few days to think about what she had done...to me. haha So, I go into the next period's class and everyone, including the teacher, wanted to know what had happened. |
I was the outsider. I did not get much respect, except from a few people.

People in my high school class were not friends with me either. My senior year, they voted for me for some superlatives which turned out to be a surprise though. All of my friends were in the class one year my junior. This one guy in my class was my good friend though. He moved to the school around the same time I did and was also in "accelerated" classes and the "gifted program" in his former school system. It pangs me to write about him. He was the tallest guy in our school also. He died the summer after tenth grade. He was drunk in a swimming pool. It was my first experience with the death of a friend. On the day of his funeral, I totaled my VW Rabbit on the way home because I couldn't pay attention to driving from being so distraught. |
none of those
i was very popular, the "weird" guy every group of friends has im the guy who introduced all his "jock" friends to acid and mushrooms hahaha people never understood me, but they liked me a whole lot i became a "legend" or something my junior year when i threw that party that made the news all the kids from other schools heard about me, even some kids that were 8th and 7th graders its kind of annoying running into people and their like "DUDE, YOU'RE THAT GUY, PEDRO, RIGHT?!? DUDE, I HEARD ABOUT YOUR PARTY!" im a nice guy so im usually like "yeah, im pedro. nice to meet you" |
Basketcase seems to be what I get called most often. It's usually either that or stoner or faggot.

To put it in perspective, of all the things they could have voted me for, they chose "biggest ass (as in butt)"!
I wanted to be voted "next Einstein" or at least "most likely to get a nervous breakdown"! |

Sounds like my twenties. I would work or go to school some of the time, but most of the time I was a middle man. I wasn't able to go anywhere without people asking me about stuff, and that was just fine with me at the time, because I didn't have the money to support my habits any other way. I would also have cars stop on the street and ask me where to get them pot. I didn't dress hippy, but my hair was long and I suppose I just look(ed) like someone on drugs. |
|
Quote:
oh no, no i would never go out of my way to get someone pot or anything unless i was getting some for myself |
Well now I don't get anybody anything, and I don't go anywhere to get anything. It's crazy how much time I wasted in my twenties getting myself and others wasted, but it was fun.
It did make me quite the butterfly. Girls that went out with me would always remark on how I seemed to know everyone. I usually never paid for drinks or much else. I freely flitted about between the professionals, the bar owners, the natives, the townies, the frats, the regular students and all the rest. In a big way it was me trying to keep up with some wealthy Joneses. Fuck all that. |
FUnny, did you get grounded?
|
I grew up and started actually getting up in the morning instead of afternoon....something I never did in my twenties.
|
Quote:
me? are you kidding? no, haha my parents were actually proud i did such a wonderful job on the event and made some money... all by myself! |
Hahah, good that is good.

My secondary school was bang next door to a mental asylum. Occasionally, some of the inmates would pay an unexpected visit to one of the playground. There was a great rumour going round that in the ground of said institute, there were six feet trenches filled with deadly spikes.
|
I hung out with all the gays. I really had only one close straight friend in high school. Everyone else was just really gay.
