I just listened to it and I think it sounds very interesting! Great thing in this is that it's quite different stuff than I expected Kim's solo album to be, sounding more like Massive Attack or 90's Tricky than Sonic Youth.

to me it sounds like lofi dark noisy electronica. did not catch the lyric on the first listen.

On the next issue (#428, "October") of The Wire: "On the cover we have an extended interview with Kim Gordon, still bringing the noize with a new solo album, her ongoing Body/Head duo with Bill Nace, and a new score for Andy Warhol's 1964 silent film Kiss, among other endeavours, all proving there is plenty of life after S•••c Y••th".

I did not expect this to be so industrial and less experimental... although she's a great visual artist.

I actually love it..music wise. also the video and whole idea behind it is genius...creates your own vivid imagination.

I dunno can see where you’re coming from (fundamentally similar to the alternabopm industrial sound I suppose) but it sounds super modern to me, and Kim inserts herself into these tracks really well

Kim gets an 8.4 rating on Pitchfork. I haven't heard it yet, think I'll bike to my local record store this afternoon and see if they have it already

find it interesting that in a lot of these interviews Kim isn’t being absolute as to SY having finished, not that I think it’s something that’s even remotely likely to happen but it’s a big jump from her being much more categorical around the time of girl in a band....

It’s goddamn excellent. Somehow bucks the conventions of noise rock and art rock in just the right ways to sound fully invigorating (and invigorated), without leaving the classic Kim we love behind.

Probably the most forward-thinking solo release from an SY member.

Just a tremendous win, and I can’t stop playing it.
