star wars vs. star trek

both very popular. and have huge fan bases. for me it's not even a question. star wars all th way. i've watched star trek and few times and it was ok. but anywho. VOTE OR DIE

schizophrenicroom 04.24.2006 10:28 PM

STAR WARS STAR WARS STAR WARS

but i love star trek: tng. there was a lot of sexin'.

samantha. 04.24.2006 10:31 PM

I've never seen Star Trek, so it has to be Star Wars.

pantophobia 04.24.2006 10:37 PM

Star Trek but barely,

Star Wars has far better movies, infact i put all 6 ahead of the best trek film Star Trek 6

what does it is the vast amount episodes that have aired and created vast storylines, they reached a zenith with DS9 and the supreme cast

Daycare Nation 04.24.2006 10:39 PM

I like the Star Trek episodes about the triffids. But I voted for Star Wars. My favorite scene of any Star Wars movie is when Queen Amidala puts the blanket on young Annikin.

Lethrneck4 04.24.2006 10:47 PM

this is a ridiculous poll.....first off, star wars is far and away better than star trek......i hate when people even make this comparison, its only done cause their names are similar. if star trek was called space quest or something, it would never even be compared to star wars. its all about them having star as the first word in thier names.....ive watched some star trek, i couldnt have been more bored or mad at how much a show could suck. watch them both.....its no contest

S T A R W A R S !!!!!

Daycare Nation 04.24.2006 10:49 PM

They're pretty similar. They're both about guys wearing ridiculous costumes and flying around in space with guns that they use to fight evil.

finding nobody 04.24.2006 10:50 PM

but! everyone knows that a jedi will beet the fuck out of a clingon any day of the week

Daycare Nation 04.24.2006 10:53 PM

No...the Jedi will just trick the shit out of the Klingon with some bad-ass mind-control thing-a-ma-jig. *waving his hand* "You don't need to kick my ass. You need a Big and Tasty meal."

val-holla-ing 04.24.2006 11:08 PM

i really don't like either, but if i had to choose, i'd choose star wars. why? samuel l. jackson. he'd turn it into jedi's on a muthafuckin' plane or something like that.

Everyneurotic 04.24.2006 11:17 PM

geeks!!!!!!

krastian 04.25.2006 12:05 AM

Star Wars is imprinted on my soul.

Flen flyys 04.25.2006 12:24 AM

Mother fuckin' Wars.

Hip Priest 04.25.2006 04:52 AM

I don't like either, but Star Trek is abysmal, whereas Star Wars 5 and 6 are bearable. Sort of. So Star Wars wins.

I prefer Doctor Who. Or even Space 1999.

terminal pharmacy 04.25.2006 04:55 AM

the best thing ever over both is william shatners spoken word albums, and the piss take of said albums on futurama. i'm slim shady..... the real slim shady

nicfit 04.25.2006 05:33 AM

ha ha !in a war, enterprise should just teleport mega-bombs on every ship of the empire and make them blow like bubbles...that said,i like better star wars films, but spok is an idol.

what a pimp. he has a purple light saber

that would make a great signiture picture

Rob Instigator 04.25.2006 09:12 AM

Deep Space 9 was the single greatest scifi television show ever

yes it was.

the three new movies have completely derailed any star wars love I ever had. those movies killed off a mythos. they ruined the greatest legend and brought it down to base shit slurry

!@#$%! 04.25.2006 10:10 AM

oh, i'm not a trekkie, but star wars is complete & utter shit and if you don't think so you need to eat more fish.

star trek was way ahead of its time in many ways (the original), you terminal fools.... the others were on and off but they were tv series, so what do you expect? the 1st star wars was ok because or the influence of joseph campbell... after he died, lucas was revealed for the lame turd he is.

besides that, the whole political shituation-- star wars is ruled by lords & aristocracies and a handful of heros saving the whole fucking universe. star trek in spite of the need for main characters depends on teamwork & the working stiff to make things run. there is no single illuminated individual blah blah blah. democracy beats feudalism any time.

fishmonkey 04.25.2006 10:14 AM

Wars Wars it has to be Wars, and to be honest my least favorite charater in the whole series of films was Mace Windu (samuel l jackson) i feel he was total shit as a Jedi, i know this might be a crime but i just dont think he suited the part at all

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 04.25.2006 10:46 AM

The original Star Wars trilogy was great, and so was the original Star Trek. Star Wars really ignited my imagination as a child, and will always hold a special place in my heart. Star Trek didn't quite have the same effect on me. Star Trek is very stiff compared to Star Wars, Han Solo is much more Rock and Roll than Star Trek. As far as Sci-fi TV shows, I like the new Dr. Who and Battlestar Galactica a lot. Red Dwarf was a good sci-fi back when PBS used to show the repeats. I've never seen the tv show of Hitchhiker's guide, but I think I'd probably like that.

Pax Americana 04.25.2006 11:46 AM

I like Star Trek TNG, but Star Wars has pretty much owned my soul since I was like 5. So yeah... Star Wars all the way.

Neongod 04.25.2006 01:08 PM

Take a guess...

qprogeny79 04.25.2006 01:19 PM

seriously, you're asking an impossible question. you're pitting three of the most enthralling sci-fi movies ever made (star wars -- the original trilogy) against one of the most thought-provoking shows in the history of television (star trek -- the original series with shatner and nimoy). i mean . . . honestly, i love them both. but i'm still voting star trek because a) it's more intellectually substantive than star wars ever hoped to be, and b) face it, the prequel star wars trilogy is horrible.

Glice 04.25.2006 01:24 PM

I have yet to see Star Wars (and I suspect that by this point in my life I never will) so I've voted for Star Trek, because I don't mind it too much.

AllHandsOnTheBigOne 04.25.2006 01:27 PM

First 3 Star Wars(films from the 70s-80s) > Anything Star Trek related

Star Trek Next Generation > Last 3 Star Wars(90s-00s)

EyeballGrowth 04.25.2006 01:48 PM

I like DUNE!!

I think the Dune books blow both of them away. But in answer to the question yeah, there's nothing quite like the first 3 Star Wars movies. Return of the Jedi being my fave. I do like the original Star Trek series with Shatner though. It was really trippy

Proud Marie 04.25.2006 08:11 PM

Even though the last three Star Wars movies were trash, the series takes the cake over Star Trek any day. Star Trek is the most gad damned phony thing ive ever seen.

finding nobody 04.25.2006 08:56 PM

everyone says episode II was the worst star wars movie. anyone agree?

!@#$%! 04.25.2006 08:59 PM

it's like this:

star wars is for CHILDREN

star trek is for GEEKS

i'd rather be a geek, any day, than a gradeschooler.

i mean-- MIT or ms. tweety's kindergarten?

no contest

Whatever! Hell, I was a child when I got hooked on it.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 04.25.2006 11:20 PM

Yeah, you have to get hooked on Star Wars as a child.

!@#$%! 04.26.2006 12:13 AM

in that case, i take little red riding hood (craftly little ho!), the 3 little pigs, hansel and gretel, & aesop's fables over any lucas movie any day :)

Agreed. The Dune series is incredible, though the movie and the Sci-Fi mini series were pretty bad.

Also, of course Star Wars is for kids! That doesn't mean it isn't awesome.

Rob Instigator 04.26.2006 10:50 AM

Re: dune. I LOVE the Lynch m,ovie!
the miniseries was good too! what the fuck?

and star wars is great, but the last three movies showed what it really was about, which is meaningless posturing disguised as myth.

it is shit. star wars has died and rotted and you all know it. nothing will erase the wonder of the first three movies, but those movies were not sci-fi, nor were they ever meant to be. they are serials, cliiffhangers, old school hollywood adventure movies re-set for the future. in that they are homage.

star trek has always been about ideas, which is what all true science fiction is about. it is morality plays. it involves human decisions, human morality, human essence, not just shooting ships and some BULLSHIT fucking "force" mystical nonsense.

star trek is fantastic.

Savage Clone 04.26.2006 11:03 AM

This is more a question of "Who would you rather hang out with?"

If you've read the books, I cannot possibly see how you could like either of these...
The David Lynch movie would have been okay if they hadn't added all this nonsense, like the "wierding weapons." And although the miniseries did a better job of telling the story more acurrately, it was some of the most poorly acted shit I've ever seen. I thought both were kinda lame.

Also, I agree that the SW prequels pretty much sucked.

I could not agree more about what has happened to star wars. I still have not been able to bring myself to watch any SW movie since episode III. That said I still have a place in my heart for the OT.

I guess I will rather have the battle be Empire Strikes Back verses Wrath of Kahn. I still would let ESB win because in my pathetic universe not much beats it?

Magublafix 04.26.2006 01:14 PM

i hate star trek
