Excues me while I kiss this guy (misheard lyrics)

I always hear "guy" instead of "guide" even though I know it is guide. Completely changes the meaning of the song.

I've been waiting for a guy to come and take me by the hand, will these sensations make me feel the pleasures of a normal man? (Joy Division, Disorder)

Trasher02 04.30.2007 02:45 AM

I know exactly what you mean I thought the same thing with disorder.

Trasher02 04.30.2007 02:52 AM

Thom yorke says "I can feel death" but I used to think he said "fuckin' feel dead" which suprised me of course.

He's talking about disorder I think.

That website has some funny ones on it.

Now I'm glad sonicl fell into that one simultaneously.

Looks like it's gonna be one of those...

When I was a kid I always thought Pearl Jam's "Evenflow" was called "Even though".

Iain 04.30.2007 10:17 AM

Off that last Joanna Newsome record there's a song about a Meteorite or something and I thought she was singing about 'media rights'...

nick2767 04.30.2007 10:39 AM

I remember reading about Megadeath (or some metally band like that)recording a version of Anarchy in the UK and instead of singing the line 'another council tenancy' sang it as 'and other cunt like tendencies'. Having never heard this version I couldn't say whether it's true or just some bit of pop music myth. But it's certainly amusing.

ALIEN ANAL 04.30.2007 10:50 AM

haha media rights thats funny

oh i use to sing all these wrong lyrics to Peal Jams 'daughter'
something about being in a wheel chair and violence

MellySingsDoom 04.30.2007 06:02 PM

In Public Enemy's "Rebel Without A Pause", I used to think that 'That's the reason they're claiming I'm a-violent' was 'That's the reason they played it on a violin'.

pbradley 04.30.2007 06:13 PM

Gotta love Cheech and Chong's "Excuse me as I kiss this fly."

king_buzzo 06.09.2007 11:29 AM

'I can never forget you, the way you rocked the boat'

From 100%, Always thought it was like this until I googled the lyrics

I always thought it was kiss this guy, and then I thought it was misheard so I thought the right version 'kiss the sky'

schizophrenicroom 06.09.2007 11:41 AM

when i was younger, in "every day is like sunday" i thought old morrissey was singing "come all you edmunds" instead of "come, armageddon".

yeah.

LittlePuppetBoy 06.09.2007 01:24 PM

In "to Forgive" by the Smashing Pumpkins, I always thought the line "nothing is important" was "nothing is a bother"

Blinded by the light, wrapped up like a douche in the middle of the night

finding nobody 06.09.2007 01:52 PM

When I was little, VERRRY little I misheard some part of the chorus to Smells Like Teen Spirit. I heard "A POTATO!" I always called it the potato song

CHOUT 06.09.2007 01:58 PM

I thought in Snows song Informer, he was saying Farmer.

Ha, yeah, same here. Although I thought it had something to do with what the media writes and "how it's percieved", or some shit like that.

atsonicpark 06.09.2007 04:39 PM

"I've been waiting for a guy to come and take me by the hand, will these sensations make me feel the pleasures of a normal man?"

yep. i thought that too.

there's a girls against boys lyric that goes "way into the trance thing" but i thought he was saying "we're in the trash bag" which is cool so i used it as an album title.

terminal pharmacy 06.09.2007 11:56 PM

can we go into misquoted texts as well???

casablanca - it is never said in the movie "play it again sam"

hamlet - alas poor yoric i knew him well is actually alas poor yoric i knew him horatio.

deathbyfeedback 06.10.2007 12:16 AM

"inside my head my dog's a bear, and she was significant" (in i'm insane off bad moon rising)

the end sounds like "i shoot significant"

my old band was subsequently called shoot signifcant.
whoops.

MellySingsDoom 06.10.2007 02:53 AM

I used to think the line in Public Enemy's "Rebel Without A Pause" ("That's the reason they're claimin' I'm a violent") was: that's the reason they played it on a violin.
