New WuTang record (why did noone tell me?)
I had no idea they had a new one due to come out in July. Has anyone heard anything from it? Has it leaked or anything?
See more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8_Diagrams It's named after the film 8 Diagram Pole Fighter which is pretty ace so that must mean the record will be ace! |
hasn't leaked yet. it will hopefully be "immensely strong".
|
face it, the wu-tang haven't been the wu-tang in a long time.
and gayney west is producing? fuck this shit! |
stop talking out of your arse, the wu-tang will always be the wu-tang
|
it will take a lot to top ghostface's recent output alone...
|
yeah ghostface's rewcent stuff is fantastic, but the wu-tanbg are more or less thge closest thing to superheros, the new album even if it isn't a classic will at least have some fantastic tunes on it.
|
well, that's a given...and yeah, they are like the league of justice...actually they are more like marvel's avengers.
|
wow looking forward to this then. whats it going to be called?
|
the wu tang will always be the blah blah blah
who cares. |
That's good news. A new Wu Tang record means that i'll have something to play to death.

people who didn't buy the new dinosaur jr record. |
It's called 8 Diagrams after the film 8 Diagram Pole Fighter.
|
you must give respect to the wu tang before repping toilet and bowels again.

yes just saw that in your original post. damn my tiredeness and poor eyesight. |
This rhyme you digest through the RZA console
Ask why I slam nine diagram pole Raekwon dropped the bomb, Hunchback, Norte Dame Golden Arms is bronze, buddah palm hit Qu'ran It blows extreme, mean stream be the theme Supreme team, America's Cream Team, redeemed Vidal Sassoon, chrome tones hear the moans of Al Capone Gun POW to the dome And split the bone, wig blown off the ledge By the alledged, full-fledged, sledge RZA edge One dose of my feroc(ious) handheld trigga cuts Acapella spittin shell paralyzed when you get touched And critical mic cords, hangin like umbilical Cords, dope swords, five star general Raw be the quote rap style sore throat Through the fully operational, hand held tote mm-hmm U-God's verse from "Winter Warz" off of Ghostface Killah's Ironman Here's a trailer for a documentary about the Wu, titled Rock the Bells, here. ![]() |
SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!
Can't wait for this. All of Ghostface's material is amazing, but I barely heard More Fish. Ghostface has some of neatest beatstyles going for him with all the soul/ motown samples. Only Built For Cuban Linx 2 is coming out this summer as well, so keep your eyes peeled for that too. Has some Dre produced tracks as well. Oh, and my brother's going to Rock the Bells this year, he found out the ticket preorder password ;). |
the news about a new record are exciting but i guess i'll buy it just because it's wu-tang clan... but the good old days are gone.
but i hope i'll be pleasantly surprised. |
I wasn't all that bowled over by Fishscale. It had a bunch of really ace tunes, don't get me wrong, but also a fair amount of filler. It's no Ironman or Liquid Swords is it?
|
i rate supreme clientele over ironman
|
I don't have Supreme Clientele unfortunately
|
I'd like a double bill of Wu Tang and Dinosaur Jr.
With a mash up set for the encore. J.MASCIS AIN'T NOTHIN' TO FUCK WIT. |
God. To be honest I didn't even think they were still together
|

That's true. |
actually on second thoufghts, i rate fishscale as good as any of the best wu solo joints.
|
No doubt Tim Westwood is wanking himself blind over the thought of another Wu-Tang 'joint'.

i think the best wu-tang albums are: 1. wu-tang clan - enter the wu-tang (36 chambers) 2. GZA - liquid swords 3. raekwon - only built 4 cuban linx 4. ol' dirty bastard - return to the 36 chambers: the dirty version 5. method man - tical 6. ghostface killah - iron man |
wu tang has one really good album.
besides, odb is dead. so fuck this shit. |

the rza fleshed out some jams odb laid but not finished before dying, so it's not a total wash. |
They really have something to prove now.

these days i prefer wu-tang forever to 36 chambers, the w is also totally underrated.
|
listening to it right now, it's not bad!
some stuff is kinda lame, like the guitar solos in unpredictable, but there's plenty of interesting moments and great beats; of course, i'm not done through it once even, so i'll have to asses the whole thing when i'm done. |
it's already leaked... and it's weak. rae, ghost & u-god are talking about not even releasing it becuz rza keeps putting "corny guitar shit" on the beats. he says if rza doesn't start changing shit the rest of the wu are gonna put out a different album and levae him out of it. which would be hard becuz rza owns the rights to the wu tang name. supreme clientele is hands down the best wu solo project. ghost, gza, rza (& the first meth solo album) are the only dudes worth a damn anyways. oh, & ODB, cuz he's funny/raw as hell. wu tang forever indeed.
|
yeah, i'm through listening to it and it's very ok.
it's not a total wash because these guys can really rap, in the whole extention of the word, and there's enough classic rza beats to make it good, but there's a lot of really awful tracks in them, you can even tell which tracks are done with some other producer and which ones are by the rza and that makes it disjointed. there's some interesting experimentation but for the most part it fails and the best moments are when they get back to the classic and proven wu tang sound. and the odb tribute song is very fucking forced, the one with the dirty rap, the last song, is pretty cool, though. |
wu tang for life
|
can't believe no one has mentioned
![]() |
i love raekwon talking about a new "shaolin vs wu tang" album to counteract
"8 diagrams" when he can't even get his shit together with the "cuban linx" sequel. that records supposed to have been released for how long now? |
