Zimmy fans: I'm not sure what sadistic fuck would do this, but assume someone has a gun to your head and tells you that you can only listen to ONE Dylan record for the rest of your life. Which one? Why?

Well I have Planet Waves in my record player right now.

As much as I love Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisted, and the rest of his earlier stuff, I'd say I'd have to pick an album like Planet Waves, New Morning, John Wesley Harding.

The great thing about Dylan is that he has many albums one can live with for the rest of one's life without craving any other music, so either which of those one chooses, chances are slim he's gonna regret the choice later (unless he/she chose 'Knocked Out Loaded' by cause of the stress of having to decide this at gunpoint).

I'd go for Blood on the tracks.

and this is exactly the kind of myopia (or is it mental retardness) dylan fans display that makes it hard to actually like bob dylan's good music (which isn't that much considering the number of awful things he has released).

At the moment, I'd say Blood on the Tracks, but my favorite Dylan album changes all the time.

I think you've got some neurons misfiring...you may wanna have that checked out. Then again, youi probably have a valid point considering that it's far more likely someone will have something new to write about Nyoukis and not so probably someone will write something "new" about Bob.:)

It's between Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited,and Blonde on Blonde.
Bringin' has the best songs and classic flow. Hwy has the best tones, the rock, and the jams. B on B has enigmatic variety and it's a double.

Which to choose?

I suppose I'll have to stick with Bringing It All Back Home.

Not my fave but it's the one I can imagine myself listening to on repeat without ever getting annoyed (probably because of its mellow side).

Blonde on Blonde, but only because it's longer than Highway 61 Revisited - oh, and because it has Sad Eyed Lady on it, of course.

I'd like a 45 specially made with Masters Of War on one side and Hollis Brown on the other, as these are the only two Dylan songs I really like.
