i am really not sure if it will be such a good thing. i just hope he is better than the last guy in the job.

Gordon Brown is Tony Blair minus the rictus death grin. Nothing's gonna change at all.
|
I'm really optimistic about this. I love that Brown is a modernist. Unlike Blair I think Brown will bring focus back to domestic issues. I'll probebly never be a Labour supporter but finally this seems like a step in the right direction for the country. Although Politically I think Labour will be damaged by the loss of of their 'Superstar' politician. But thats only because most voters don't care or know anything about politics. Which is unfortunate.
|
you sure you don't just like him because he is scottish???
|
I couldn't care less where he comes from. It's what he does that pisses me off.
|
Has someone pirated WHOREOHSCOPE's account, he wasn't a troll before ?

They should play The Stranglers' 'Golden Brown' with the lyrics changed to 'Gordon Brown' on tv.
Gordon brown texture like sun Lays me down with my mind he runs Throughout the night No need to fight Never a frown with Gordon Brown Every time just like the last On his ship tied to the mast To distant lands Takes both my hands Never a frown with Gordon Brown Gordon Brown finer temptress Through the ages he's heading West From far away Stays for a day Never a frown with Gordon Brown Never a frown With Gordon Brown Never a frown With Gordon Brown |

Haha I'm welsh? im not a huge fan, but im glad to see a change, and its certainly a more positive change than having David Cameron as the new PM |
and Britain goes for a ball of shit?
|
its who is going to be the deputy that makes me shiver.
|
Ah yes, Harriet "Oh, I was against the Iraq war, but now I'm Deputy Leader, I've changed my mind" Harman. Expect plenty more of this calibre in the new Government.
|
Gordon Brown is better than Tony Blair, there's no doubt about that, but he's still not that great. Bitch be obese.
|
one good thing that may happen is that gordon wont be so under the thumb of george dubya and he may get rid of a lot of the current cabinet who dont seem to know their ass from their ass.

This pretty much sum's up my view. |
Personally, it's nice to see someone with a pretty strong intellect in power. And, hopefully, we'll get a snap election and no Cameron as PM. I haven't got any strong pro-Labour feelings (I'd probably rest towards the sceptic side of things) but I am just about old enough, and have spoken to enough people who were genuinely old enough, to remember the poison of the Tories. It's a very rash way to have an opinion, but there you have it.
|
I'm prepared to vote for Labour with Brown in charge. Something I haven't been able to say about them under Blair's reign.
|
I'm certainly glad to see the back of Blair, but it's sad that he's gone by choice rather than through shame, or by being hounded out of office.
Is Brown preferable? Yes, although that's not exactly saying much; in the final analysis, the horrendous Blair is being replaced by someone who has stood side-by-side with Blair, and anyone who has done that doesn't deserve a public position of any type as far as I'm concerned, let alone the leadership. So it's impossible to say it's good because it's still labour. Labour might be 'old' labour. It might be 'old' labour dressed uBut it is still labour. So I still dislike it intensely. Brown has the capability not to be utterly immoral and reviolting though. I suppose. |
Ordinarily I'd refuse to vote for Brown, if only because of his close connection with Blair, but looking at how well the Tories are doing in the polls I'd have to bite my lip and vote for him, just to stop Cameron getting anywhere near no. 10.

Aww.. you beat me to it. :p I wanna see him get in a fight with John Prescott. |
I note in today's Guardian that Iron Broon has taken on board a couple of private finance initiative bods, the same people who have given us sub-standard and hugely expensive schools, hospitals and prisons. Nice one, Gordon. I await with resignation the next step from the Clunking Fist.
Oh yes, and look who's heading the Justice Department, the wonderfully illiberal Jack Straw. |
Ugh, Milliband as Foreign Secretary. Milliband is a total worm...I have an irrational dislike for the guy.
