2Pac
Do any of you boardies like him?
|
Most definately NOT.
Never have - never will. |
i have mixed feelings about him, but generally prefer biggie in terms of lyricism.
|
Maybe because i am west coast, I generally like his stuff. I think Biggie is most party stuff, but I haven't really listen to everything biggie has done.
|
you're definitely right, but i'm speaking just of wordplay. content is a whole 'nother beast.
|
Pac is amazing. Pure west coast genius. And yes val, generally east coast will have sharper lyrics, especially when it comes to the popular rap. Pac has a great flow and voice. All Eyes on Me is one of my favorite albums now
|
no.

At first when Tupac died I felt sympathy for the man, but only until some weeks later did I start to piece together the puzzle. There's aliens out there, people, aliens! How else do y'all explain my theory, huh??

That's right, my man Flavor, a rebel in his own mind, supporter of my rhymes. If there's one thing Chuck D loves more than classic hip hop and stargate, it's Flavor. |

|
wtf? chuck and flav here? it's joke, is it?
|
I could never give a flying fuck about anythijg 2Pac rapped about. I just could give a fuck about west coast cali bullshit.
I'll stick with PE and Rakim and Gangstarr and de la and tribe and all that old shit. I am an old fart I predict that in the next few years a true hip hop underground will explode to do what punk did, remind people of where the roots of the music are from, and to inject a new energy into what has been for the last 12 years or so an increasingly stagnant, repetetive, and downright FAKE celebration of everything BULLSHIT. from bling to ho's to ridiculously expensive rented cars in the videos to multi millionaire rappers still rapping about the same rough and tumble "ghetto" BULLSHIT, even though they have been living in posh mansions for the past decade. fuck it cannot get here fast enough. |
Word to the wise, brother Rob.
|
hip hop now, mainstream hip hop at least, is like rock in the early 70's, a bloated , lumbering, overly polished, reeking DINOSAUR
can someone please shoot puff diddy so we can then heaR ABOUT HOW HE WAS THE "GREATEST RAPPER EVER" JUST CUZ HE'S DEAD? rappers better than 2pac GURU CHUCK D RAKIM TOO SHORT SLICK RICK THE RULER TRUGOY |
i used to be really into him, but now not so much.
same with biggie. |

TRU DAT! except I don't know who Trugoy is.... Generally I'm more into rappers who are likely to make me laugh or say something clever than having some depth to their lyrics. Which Wu Tang song is better? "Shame On a Nigga" or "Can't It Be All So Simple". |
Never gave a fuck about hip-hop. I do, however, like some stuff on the outside of hip-hop, expeerimental shit like cLOUDDEAD and the Anticon. collective, Ninja Tune records... etc...
What I'm saying is that Tupac is fucking boring and repetitive. I really see no difference between Tupac/Biggie and, say, 50 Cent. Same bullshit, different decade (and one is dead, the other is not). |
although 50 cent should be dead.
|
50 cent had Jam master jay killed. You heard it here first
RIP Jam Master Jay |
Whilst not being a fan of either 2 Pac or Biggie, the Nick Broomfield film about their deaths was both fascinating and rather sinister. Suge Knight had the aura of a psychopath, and the most touching moments for me were the interviews with Biggie's mother.
As for mainstream hip-hop today, I pretty much concur with Rob Instigator's sentiments. |
Quote:
Dude, comparing Biggie to 50 cent is like comparing Funkadelic to Red Hot Chilli Peppers. |
Tupac had alot of good songs. Stuff with subject matter not typically found in the genre (to my knowledge anyway). He is definetly over rated. I'll PE over him any day of the week.

wow. what a stupid fucking thing to say. basically you're saying that you like hip hop that takes every element of real hip hop and makes it more palettable for people who are made uncomfortable by anything unfamiliar to them. doseone isn't a rapper and anticon isn't a hip hop label. i'd much rather see the likes of them dead than biggie and pac. |
Anticon are a bunch of no good crackerz!
|
well that's what i wanted to say, but i don't want to sound racist...again.
