I see very little difference between GG Allin and the average over-the-top glam rock band. They may be taking their stage performance in different directions but really... what's the difference between rolling around in your own shit and some ridiculous fireworks? They're both equal distractions from the music.

Besides, I find the freaky art performance style of the early Butthole Surfers more appealing.

I agree, early GG sounds like New York Dolls or something with clever, straight up gross lyrics. I've played people Bite It You Scum and Beat Beat Beat and they've like "Woah! I never knew, this shit rules".
