Which image is better?
I'm puting up an EP on my site called crowgarden and I've got two ideas for cover art. Not sure which one I should do.
1. ![]() 2. ![]() ![]() ![]() www.skrecords.co.nr |
i like number 2
the first one. it actually conveys the idea of a "crow gardend" AND you can read what it sez
#2 says "rowgard" - a deodorant for athletes? --- OH FUCK. i mistakenly voted for 2. take it back. |

I totally agree. however, I really like how the text is partially obscured in #2. it makes you have to work to read the words. although that might not be best for a cover, I'd use it for the inside! please tell me that there is a song called Murder. |

haha, nice. |
the first one
I would say two, but I could see why one would work better.
number 1 looks like an album, number 2 looks like a single (suggested by the single bird)

true. |
The text hurts the first one.
The 2nd one rules because... who doesn't want to see a crow dead? Plus the word "crowgard" makes me think, "oh shit, a new 'avant-garde'!" Crowgarden, on the other hand, I just don't care about. Its inadvertant relationship to "Soundgarden" is lame to me. |
Try thinking of "Savage Garden" instead... maybe that helps.

No, the dead crow and "Crowgarde" still reign supreme. Like, doesn't "crowgarde" just get you thinking? Like, is the music a crow's twist on avant-garde music? And I don't care if I'm alone in my thinking at all. Now all that needs to happen is for the music to actually capture the idea of a Crow's twist on the Avant-Garde. |

er... a lot of people, including me. crows are cool. Quote:
eh????? nice gibberish, but really... what does it mean? |

All I can say is that I'd love to hear it. I'm sure Brian Eno could fashion something out of the idea. |
Oooo, I tied it. I think #1 is the best.
METAAAAAAAAAAL!

That still doesn't look right. The font is a bit dodgy and the black and white graphics make it look more like a cheap cdr homemade cover, or one of those promo copies that radio DJs get. The first one remains the best out of the two, though.
I forgot to say that I quite like the first one. If you'll do a coherent back cover / booklet / cd art it could work.
I like the first one more. Maybe do something else with the text though. Perhaps a different font and different placement.
I like the second one, the first cover looks less original then the second one.
I think the first one is better.
I don't know it makes any difference but the EP is just one 16 minute track. And it's all digital so it's just a "digital cover" art thing. Also is any one does want to make some photos I'd be more than happy.
The first one hands down. What's the music like? To the first one, I'd imagine some subtle minimalistic electronica or some weird folkie stuff.
It's noise.
i prefer the first one.
Definitely the first one.
I added two more variations on the first photo. I'm also thinking about using that image and just getting rid of the text all together.

I actually prefer the second, except that it doesn't contain the whole of 'Crowgarden'. I like number one too though. |
I really like the first one, but i suggest you make the text smaller and place it in the top left hand corner.
i also voted for one..
