none of the songs are from strawberry jam. by the way,i'm really loving what i've heard off that. what do you think?

the motherfuckers are playing in atlanta in september but on a wednesday. i'm miffed.

The new new songs are pretty trippy, but strawberry is pretty ass kickin'.

it's pretty good. strawberry jam is pretty slammin'. I like every song. There's no "Bees" on this, and I think that's good. Reverend Green is sublime, but I'm partial to the old, fast version.

I'd say AC are pretty much hippies -- or they at least make hippie music - and I think the title fits. When I saw them a year or so ago, there were only two people in the crowd wearing tye-dye -- avey tare and me.

I might make it down to that atlanta show.

strawberry jam owns, awesome album, terrible title, i agree.

on the contrary, feels is a fantastic title but the music blows.

Yeah, completely disagree about the feels opinion but it is an opinion after all.

I really like the way he screams on Peacebone.

feels is by far their worst album.

strawberry jam is a step in the right direction.. it feels like the music is trapped in ether.. whereas before, they were playing in the woods, now they're playing in outer space...

strawberry jam also holds the distinction of being an album that i like every song better than the song before it... the album just gets better and better!...

though i much prever avey tare's last solo album (and to a lesser extent, panda bear's)... damn, that album was underrated as fuck. people got so caught up in "OH, IT'S BACKWARDS!" "YEAH? LISTEN TO THE FRONTWARDS VERSION THAT'S HOW YOU HEAR THE SONGS FOR REAL!" "BUT THAT'S NOT HE POINT THE ACTUAL SONGS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HEARD BACKWARDS" BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH. just listen to the fucking album, stop generalizing and theorizing on it. it's genius. on that note, i also dig the new mum record.

animal collective, one of the only pitchfork-dick-sucking indie bands worth caring about.

I am quite excited to the max.

I'm not really a big fan of these guys, but Strawberry Jam has to be their best album yet, right? I'm listening through it for the second time and I have to say it isn't really annoying like some of there earlier stuff which is pretty hit or miss to me.

I've always thought that their earlier stuff sounded like somebody got a group of retarded hippie/commune children from the early 70's together to record an album in less than a day.....not that that is neccessarily a bad thing.

I don't really listen to it anymore, but it is a really good record that every magazine in the world will give "album of the year" honors to. Whoopty.

That is what they sound like..... and yes it is a bad thing.

I love Feels and Strawberry Jam, but I have to be in the mood for Here Comes the Indian.

I haven't heard the rest, but I believe I'll get Sung Tongs soon.

One more thing, I love the way he screams and I wish I could do it.

strawberry jam, great title and the best album in 2007. sung tongs is even better though.

i dont get the anti feels. i love it. strawberry jam is excellent and sung tongs, the first half is great the rest forgettable.

I don't get the anti Feels thing either. Sung Tongs is not that great by any means. It was the album that got me into them and I don't even understand why now. Visiting Friends is shit compared to the long ambient pieces on Here Comes The Indian.

A Frustrating and Brilliant band in equal measures, which is the mark of something special

strawberry jam has some really great moment (cukoo might be the culmination of everything that they have done up to this point.)
some so so (jack the ripper) and one crap(#1)
but i still really love it. feels is still my favorite though.
such a perfect album.
one of my favorite bands.
our newest song that wee wtrote a few days ago, has a really cool animal collectiveey scream part done by me...

That Coronet Theater show made the rounds as a torrent, as did some others.

i kind of feel that animal collective are a special band.

highly experimental and weird, but still very accessible and listenable.

its many of these types of bands who stand the test of time, velvets, beach boys, my bloody valentine, sonic youth, etc...

# 1 isn't a crap song. it's my favorite, actually...

i probably said this elsewhere, but i think every song on strawberry jam is better than the song before it.

thats interesting...i gotta agree that Derek is fantastic, especially as a closer...but there's something about Fireworks that makes it better than Derek...I think its because I knew AC could write a song like Derek, and then Fireworks is this thing of a different nature...almost like a ballad, and its just so singable...

maybe crap was an overstatment but something about it urkes me the rong way.
that keyboard riff just really annoys me.
derek is fantastic though

Strawberry Jam really grew on me over the months more and more and if anything, I think I like Cuckoo Cuckoo the least just because of how much better the live version sounds to me.

They are on the Conan replay tonight.

I listened to Haverford '05 again last night while watching football with muted sound and it's a really good audience recording.

Charlottesville '07 isn't too shabby.
