Sonic Nurse has some wonderful songs. Whilst inevitably not as good as it's predecessor, Murray Street, some great stuff. 'Pattern Recognition' is possibly my favourite SY LP opening track.

Honestly, I don't like Sonic Nurse much at all. It's one of my least favorites.

CIS is primal, raw, freaked, outsider art, but nurse is so fucking good. I loved that album upon first listen and to hear dude ranch nurse when you got the volume up to eleven and you are stoned and it is like 3 in themorning and you are in bliss.....

love them both to death. but i voted confusion. it's more raw. and i love the way the recording sounds (as in quality)

i like cis. but i could see how someone could want to make this poll cause it describes two comepletely different sides of sonic youth. some like the newer stuff and some people hate the older stuff.

Nothing wrong with this poll, despite the obvious differences. I would go with Nurse, which I think is way underrated. In fact, it might be my favorite of their last four records. Really... No, I'm serious...

i think you can't really compare them, they both are great albums but they both have different styles.

still i thin i'd go fooooor... Confusion is Nurse :D

confusion is sex is probably my most listened sy album, i listen to it a lot and love the darkness to it, also the violence and primal urgency whithin. plus they have amazing songs, which they could have just not care about and gone just with the atmosphere.

sonic nurse has a lot of high points and very few low points (dude ranch nurse, paper cut exit), but overall, a mellow album with amazing use of dissonance and noise in restrain. also includes one of my fav sonic youth songs because it is a direct contrast to what they have always done and are known for: peace attack.

confusion is sex is my favourite sy album.

CIS but the nurse keeps its own precious value though
