SY are recording new stuff
The SY myspace says "echocam sunday sy.com" and the Ecstatic Peace site says Thurston will play FESTIVAL ECSTATIQUE on Sunday unless he's in NYC recording!
I wonder if they are recording the track for "Hits Are For Squares" or new stuff for the next album... ![]() |
oh hell to the yes! fucking a it's about time. nothing makes me harder than a new SY album. thanks moshe.
Fucking Sweet.
HELL YEAH.
Let's hope it has sharper teeth than Rather Reserved if it is album material.
Perhaps playing DDN round the world has rekindled their love for the noise jams?
Sister, I just blew my goo all over a thousand leaves!

Doubt it, they looked bored as hell playing it. |
Kewl, thats the actual echocam, and i can calculate how many hours it is behind me
hope they take their sweet time recording whatever it is they are recording.

You tell the truth. Slint were supposedly the same when they played Spiderland. I just don't get it. If you don't feel happy doing it then why do it? When I went to see Mudhoney they seemed happy playing Superfuzz Bigmuff and it rubbed off onto the crowd creating an awesome gig. |
Uh, in italy they were really into it.ha!
i hope its new album i cant wait...

hahaha, it shows how the shittiness of playing an almost-20 year old record to people that haven't gotten over it is not lost on them. and that mudhoney realize their only worthwhile work is an almost-20 year old ep plus some singles that they haven't gotten over it. if mudhoney were a pop band, they would be a long forgotten one hit wonder. |
showtime

I want my Sy collabo with Iggy Pop. Or Patti Smith. Or Alan Vega. Or Yoko Ono. That would be so bloody awesome.
And a bit bloody "so 70s" too ;)

if that happened 20 years ago, yes, it would be bloody awesome. |
Are they recording on the echocam today?
looks like....
![]() |
yeah yeah! do they ever do video recording on it? like, will we be able to hear / see them play?
It would be great! Unfortunately it seems they're no longer here =(
nah it's just a snapshot every x seconds... :( but they just left, maybe they'll be back after a break, who knows.
Yeah I hope so ^^ the cam seems to be refreshed less than it used to be, I can remember that it was refreshed every 30 seconds before, and now it seems to be only refreshed every 5 minutes... am I wrong?
it's definitely about that time for a new album (about every two years, yes?). i'm excited to see what's on the horizon.
another furniture sessions maybe?

If it is SY ritually beating someone to death, I'm gonna keep my little mouth shut. |
whatever it is please let it be good!!! :) PLEASE!
Oh look, T-Bag's noodling with his jazz.
sonic youth should write an orchestra with glenn branca and have all guitars played by truman's water, thinking fellers, and polvo. all other instruments played by caroliner.. except drums, by boredoms. HOW'S THAT? I BEAT YOU ALL.

The guy with Thurston is John Agnello by the way. It said on his website that he'd be recording with them today and that'd he post more about it later.
ok so it seems theyre filming it as well
