i'm sorry but that was one of the most boring things i've ever watched..

the crowd claps when he's just doing subtle slides that dont even make any sounds.. like what the hell?

although three neck guitar would be sweet..

Cantankerous 12.18.2007 10:27 PM

am i correct or wasn't it hat and beard? and all the sudden i see hat and bread?

these videos had me laughing for days.

Phlegmscope 12.19.2007 03:07 AM

His facial expression are the funniest thing though...
Gives a whole new meaning to guitar masturbation.

Torn Curtain 12.19.2007 07:44 AM

That reminds me so much of the guitar players in my high school that showed off thinking they were really great while they were just terrible! :D

Robert Fripp doing his thing

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 12.19.2007 10:51 AM

I don't like "text book" music.

Norma J 12.19.2007 04:38 PM

Did he shred at the end? 'cause I clicked out of it half way through because what he was doing up until then was nothing special, nothing that I couldn't do myself anyway.

✌➬ 12.19.2007 04:42 PM

God what awful music that is, I could not get more than 45 seconds. And what a cocky look he has, prick.

themawt71 12.19.2007 05:12 PM

this is all overdubbed!!! thats not steve vai playing. that's why this shit is so funny.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 12.19.2007 05:20 PM

shredding is overrated anyways. it was corrupted by cock rock and hair metal.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 12.19.2007 05:27 PM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhX9DJIZ1NU

jerry G jams with Santana and Jordan, no shredding necessary! take that crappy one scale guitar players!

dazedcola 12.19.2007 09:26 PM

that was fucking terrible

flophousefloozie 12.19.2007 09:35 PM

...
I meant to put up a picture. It's not going to happen.

hat and beard 12.19.2007 09:40 PM

I'm surprised that some of you still haven't figured out that these videos are overdubbed. It took me a minute, but sheeesh! Whoever made these must be a genius.

The Santana one is pure gold, by the way.

Norma J 12.19.2007 09:49 PM

It was done pretty well. I noticed it wasn't always in sync. But then most stuff on Youtube isn't.

metallica's video for one-the double bass drum section is awesome.

i love how sometimes he'll randomly throw in a quote of iron man or something like that.

mick barr shredding

Glice 12.20.2007 12:34 PM

Brilliant. This has been one of my favourite functions of youtube, the ability to watch frankly appaling shredding which, nonetheless, is entirely awesome. If you can't appreciate shredding, well, you have no taste for the patently ridiculous and are therefore destined to work in an estate agents for minimal pay.

Iron Maiden. It's a good one.

Exactly, I knew after a few seconds that the audio couldn't be Vai and I scrolled down and looked at the comments too. Oh well, many people have no eye for detail, and in this case, no ear either.

Haha, all the other people responding in this thread sure look foolish and gullible.

The thing is, I bet less people would fall for one like this featuring Santana because more people have heard "Black Magic Woman" or have seen some of Santana's Woodstock performance. But, when it comes to Steve Vai, haha, how quick they were to all judge. Hilarious!

Norma J 12.30.2007 09:59 PM

But you like the Sex Pistols.

Everyneurotic 12.31.2007 01:07 AM

spaeking of steve vai, i totally saw crossroads a couple of hours ago; so much wankery at the climax of the movie is hilarious and vai's defeat is fucking priceless.

therealglenstyler 12.31.2007 03:57 AM

overdubbed, ironic, whatever, I think we can all agree it would all be much better if it was
"Steve Vai, Shredded"

rappard 12.31.2007 04:19 AM

They cannot hold a candle to Mr. Fastfinger.

I never mentioned that I liked Steve Vai. All in all, I don't like Steve Vai, not really. Yet I have been exposed to Steve Vai. He plays on Public Image, Ltd's Album (generic/untitled) and, like some I suppose, I remember his stuff with David Lee Roth. I also had this guitar playing friend (worked at a restaurant with him years ago) that loved him and would always try to get me to listen to his music when we would get together to jam. I'd always be trying to get him to switch the tape or cd to Jeff Beck, 'cause he had all those as well. Usually, he would just torture me haha with Joe Satriani next instead. Although, Satriani isn't all bad, if it has to come right down to it.

h8kurdt 12.31.2007 11:56 AM

The original of that isn't that bad. I'd actually go as far to say that it's some pretty tasty playing.

The overdub is just brilliant though.
