A queston for all the Australians on the board

How's 2008 been for you so far? Should the rest of the world be getting excited about all the treats that the new year will bring?

ALIEN ANAL 12.31.2007 01:49 PM

LifeDistortion 12.31.2007 01:56 PM

Your 2008 is off to a great start, sounds like a night well lived, even if you have blurry memories of it all. Happy New Year.

█████████ 12.31.2007 02:21 PM

disappointing,
belzebu failed again.

i want to see kangaroos in flames.

phoenix 01.01.2008 08:30 AM

Its been too fucking hot.

terminal pharmacy 01.01.2008 09:52 AM

it has been 43 deg c here so fucking intolerably hot.

ALIEN ANAL 01.01.2008 11:17 AM

the fires are fucking nuts
3 people were burned alive in trucks the other day

Norma J 01.01.2008 06:37 PM

The heat in NSW hasn't been too bad yet. As opposed to other years anyway.

Typical Australian New Years eve.

Norma J 01.01.2008 11:44 PM

I didn't drink. Two years in a row that I haven't drunk on NYE. It's great. I can't stand the drunk fools out.

i drank but swam alot and played tennis from about 3am - 5am, then swam some more and drunk some heavenly botrytis

flophousefloozie 01.02.2008 12:09 AM

This is such a pointless question, but I'll ask it just the same.
Is it weird having Christmas in the summer?

ALIEN ANAL 01.02.2008 12:18 AM

haha
nah not weird at all
for my family christmas often involves water fights, and getting water pistols for gifts so we can all play outside.

one year when much younger we all got these insane water pistols..but because we were so young we couldnt pump them, so my uncle just ran around squirting us

ZEROpumpkins 01.02.2008 12:19 AM

Summer Christmas owns. After christmas, you still have 5 weeks of summer holidays left.

flophousefloozie 01.02.2008 12:54 AM

But, do you still have winter break?

ALIEN ANAL 01.02.2008 01:05 AM

i dont know if our holiday system is different to yours
we have 9 weeks of school, then a 2 week holiday or something like that, all yr

then in november or december we start a 6 week holiday

i think..been a whilse since school

edt: i wrote off instead of of....prob made things sound weird

flophousefloozie 01.02.2008 01:09 AM

That sounds quite different. Grade school kids get July/August off, plus a week or so in December/January, and another in Spring.
College/university have more breaks.

it is only weird if you were born in another country that has winter xmas, but on the other side summer xmas rules as 90 percent of australians live on the coast

Kina 01.02.2008 04:56 AM

I had some drinks for New Years but avoided the crowds by keeping my party at home, this is me trying to look as confused as possible for some reason while holding champers:

and there is nothing wrong with a summery christmas/new year, as you can hang out at the beach and relax, here are some pictures I took today:

sure fucking is, it was 44 degrees here today, as im sure you know but other might not..we dont have no delicious coast breeze to come in and cool us off

Cantankerous 01.03.2008 04:44 AM

i need to go somewhere warm outside of the united states, seriously. the cold is really getting to me and i'm starting to get sick again and AHGHGSHG. i cna't deal with 22 hrs on a plane to oz though.

oh i just noticed alien anal's last post. 44 degrees ain't much warmer than it is here.

Norma J 01.03.2008 04:45 AM

I live about 25 minutes away from the beach, so I don't get much of a breeze either. But this year the heat is bearable for me, for some strange reason. It's probably just as hot as previous years. Today was abit of a scortchure.

✌➬ 01.03.2008 04:45 AM

I think they mean Celsius Cantanky.

Cantankerous 01.03.2008 04:47 AM

oh shit!
you people really are ass backwards
except for that americans are the ones who are ass backwards because we don't spell correctly and we have our own measurement things.

Cantankerous 01.03.2008 04:48 AM

let me pull my little englishman out of my pocket and ask him how much that is

but surely it would still be cooler having a beach 20 mins away then having a beach 3 hours away

Cantankerous 01.03.2008 04:49 AM

apparently that's something like 110 degrees.
i don't know how you can stand it.

Norma J 01.03.2008 04:49 AM

I don't know, AA. Maybe.

I know know, Lily. Maybe.
