You should think about getting a free torrent program. It's estimated that 62% of the people that downloaded In Rainbows didn't pay anything for it, so that sort of takes the sting out of some of the criticism Radiohead is getting for pulling the download. http://lonelynote.blogspot.com/2007/...oads-were.html I downloaded it (& the so-so second disc too) from Protectmeyou's links (all expired). I'm thinking about doing the keepvid and flv to avi conversion thing to the "Scotch mist" video from New Year's Eve. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukythkK4EPQ Here's a 2-disc compilation of the In Rainbows songs performed live if you want. In Rainbows: Download the whole thing: zip Disc 1: 1. 15 Step: mp3 2. Bodysnatchers: mp3 3. Nude: mp3 (acoustic version: mp3) 4. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi: mp3 5. All I Need: mp3 6. Faust Arp 7. Reckoner: mp3 (acoustic version: mp3) 8. House of Cards: mp3 (acoustic version: mp3) 9. Jigsaw Falling Into Place: mp3 10. Videotape: mp3 Disc 2: 1. MK 1 2. Down Is the New Up: mp3 3. Go Slowly: mp3 4. MK 2 5. Last Flowers: mp3 (acoustic version) 6. Up on the Ladder: mp3 7. Bangers and Mash: mp3 8. 4 Minute Warning: mp3 http://rawkblog.blogspot.com/2007/10...efinitive.html |

you should consider snatching the DVD version torrented on dime in case you missed it, quality is (quite obviously) much better and the whole thing isn't THAT big, probably less annoying to get it this way than saving/converting youtube vids :) 215 seeders  Code:

you're welcome, hope everything works. There are better versions (320kbps mp3s) than this floating around, at least for cd1 (I think the cd2 linked is already at high bitrate judging by the archive's size), hopefully hayden will hook you up with the better version soon, till then at least you can have a listen/have someone have a listen.

how the fuck do i unzip on a mac?
|
nevermind, don't need to
|
you should have downloaded it when they were selling it for $1.00!!!
in this day and age why oh why would you give the general public the ability to take your music that you slaved over and worked so hard to create and record and give them the option of downloading it for free???? or near free? That is just asking for fucking trouble. I am sure they would ahve sold a shitload if they had sold the entire album for download at the cost of $10.00 That wold be like $9.50 profit! |

Yeah, you probably have StuffIt Deluxe already factory-installed which can handle .zip files. |

I know you didn't ask me for my opinion, so I didn't bother giving it. I simply stated a fact of life: In rainblows. If you enjoy the album, though, more power to you. Nothing wrong with gettin it for free.
Regarding Radiohead "slaving over their music and giving people the option to take it for free" 3 things: 1) The whole album is rushed and shitty, so they might feel like charging a flat price for it would've alienated people, 2) On a major label, they'd only make like $1 per CD sold, so the fact that they sold it themselves means that if someone pays $20 for it, that'll completely make up for the 10 people who didn't pay for it at all, and 3) Radiohead don't need the money anyway. Some people will say, "Oh, this just proves Radiohead isn't greedy!" Greed isn't the point; they're all multi-millionaires, and they're collectively not going to make much money off this record to make a difference either way -- touring and t-shirts will be where they get the big cheese. Music isn't "work", it should be fun, it shouldn't be something to fulfill a contract... I have fun making music, it'd be cool if people wanted to give me money for it since I spend so much time refining it, but the greatest joy to me is just that people hear it period. Despite Radiohead being a band that isn't very good, at least they did the right thing in this case. I sure as hell would be pissed if I had paid $10-15 for this album. Anyway, instead of listening to this, you should all go watch Rampo Noir. What a great movie! |
Oh, it's this album. ahaha. I've usually been somewhat anti-Radiohead. But on the odd chance I listen to the radio I've caught a song or two and think "Fuck, that was pretty cool. Who's that?" and then it's announced as Radiohead. So, I am finally on their Myspace now checking out In Rainbows and don't mind what I hear at all. So I come on here and search Radiohead, and this thread comes up. When I'd already been looking at this thread prior to venturing over to Myspace.
Funny huh? Yeah, right. |

Dude, pipe up! You used to be entertaining on here but now you're just getting repetitive. Used to be enlightening rather than boring. |
"duh, I didn't azk 4 yer opinion, dood"
|
Still not entertaining.
But to point out the obvious: The threadmaker didn't ask for your opinion either, but you gave it anyway - as predictable as it was. |
Who's trying to be entertaining? I don't make posts with other people's enjoyment in mind. I mean, who the hell does that anyway? A loser. That's who.
I am merely stating facts. I'm not trying to piss on this thread, there was a discussion going on and I contributed. Who cares? |
No, my point was you used to be entertaining, whether you meant to be or not - it was entertaining. But these days it seems like you're pissed off at something and it shows in your posts. Before I click into a thread it's a safe bet what type of mood your posts are going to reflect. That's predictable and predictability is boring (in most case).
|
Okay.
I'm truely sorry my predictable opinions don't thrill you anymore. |
It's okay. I was more thinking of you.
With love, Norma. |
I have to write that I agree with Adam's logic, specifically his points 1), 2) & 3).
He expresses the same things I've thought to myself. It's not that In Rainbows is particularly bad, at least not atrociously so, but they have done better. But in comparison to what else there is out there (and Adam will disagree with me on this part) it's pretty good all in all. |
in rainbows is good, solid. it's not the greatest record i've ever heard, but you know. that's just like uhhhhhh...my opinion, MAN.
|
i think its decent, i havnt loved radiohead tho since hail to the thier came out, they peaked with kid a.
|
in rainbows is a good album. its clouded by a weak second disc, bar 2 songs, its pretty poor.
radiohead have released stuff which , lets be honest, is not the norm, its not immediatly chart friendly, not immediatly palatable to general public but yet they seem to sell truckloads and sell out tours of stadiums the world over...... they deserve respect for making their music with no limitations and still get the world at their feet...... great band but i still dont reckon they have peaked yet. |
I'm not really into their other stuff, but In Rainbows is quite listenable. It doesn't sound all dreary English art-wank.
|
Oh, are we laying down our cards over In Rainbows again? I hate repeating myself and my opinion isn't anything controversial enough for you people to care.
|
i would be imitating all of you in a whiny little girl voice and making a scrunched up face if you were here talking
