yes repeatedly shouted!
This album is getting better with every listen. Child At Arms is so cool. No Friend Oh! is fantastic. FTW is great as well. Loving loving loving it.
hayden is not the only one who likes xiu xiu on the board, you know?
Yeah, but I love him the most. :p:
It was meant for everyone, just addressed to him. What do you think of it? |
ok, carry on with your mating dance.
Thank you very much, sweetheart.
I'm digging it! |

I'm the only one who likes them enough to propose to Jamie at their concert. |

Woo! Fuck! Triple Rock again. I'm excited. I wonder who they're playing with.
Band called Get Down Stay Down, I think. And an Asian guy that I don't know...
Exciting. I hope their good. Last time I saw them they were with The Dirty Projectors.
Yeah... I've seen xiu xiu twice, and the last time I saw them they were fucking terrible. I like them still, of course, but wow. That was an awful show. Why do they have 4 people in the band now? The first time I saw them, it was just two people and it was amazing. Quiet and intimate and personal and anything else you want to describe. "Sad Pony Guerilla Girl" was done on a ukelele and was the most gentle, beautiful thing you can imagine. Then, last time I saw them, it was this big rock epic with crashing drums and shit. Pretty ridiculous. I've been a fan for 8 years now, and their last bad concert doesn't make me change my love for 'em but fuck.
Can't wait to hear this album! |
Last time I saw them there were 3 people and it was still very intimate. I think Ches' brings alot by playing the drums rather than just playing the loops. It was good.
just listened to a proper cd rip of women as lovers, man im thoroghly disappointed. after the air force (which i love) i expected something not as.......boring???? shame because i love xiu

no prob.

I like it better than The Air Force. I was pretty disappointed in the Air Force when it first came out. It's still no Knife Play.
Under Pressure is one of the best covers ever.
I hate to say this, but I really think this album sucks. I listened to it twice... hmm. I actually totally agree with Pauly: it's straight-up boring.
Hmm.. I put in La Foret and was instantly amazed.. so it's not like I'm sick of Xiu Xiu.. there's just something about this album that rubs me the wrong way. I'll give it some more listens though, maybe it's a grower. |
