Zu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sonicl 01.12.2008 10:00 AM

The CD's a joint release with three other labels, so Europeans don't have to pay lots of postage from US to Europe.

Fortissimo Records (UK) - £8 including postage
Homeopathic Records (Italy)
dot line circle (Japan)

nicfit 02.07.2008 09:13 AM

some tour dates (didn't want to open a new thread)

mAraujo 02.07.2008 09:44 AM

They were going to play here in lisbon yesterday, but it was cancelled...

Enjoy.

Public Guilt says Intermediate Spirit has been "postponed", "more info soon". What does that mean?

Also, my copy of the Il Teatro split just arrived yesterday, comes with a free CD, as well. Listening to it as I type.

maybe being distributed by 3 labels together they have to wait for each label to be kinda "ready"(hope this makes sense)?
Yes, the 666 copies of the split come with a free cd , nice gift.
Do you like it?
I wish my english was good enough to translate the lyrics properly, coz they're really great...

Sounds about right. It's just strange that the show in Lisbon was cancelled, and the release was postponed. But I'm not an alarmist, I just have nothing better to think about then Zu's future.

Well, I really only listened to it twice before I had to move on to other things. But if I would have heard this split maybe five-six years ago I would have worn it thin, but these days my ears only seem to latch on to structureless, scathing, irritating noises. You guys know how it is. But it is interesting to hear Zu so formatted, and I'm glad I have one of the 666. How do you like it?

And the songs do seem very much lyrically driven, but it seems like too much fun shouting "Fallo!"
Beautiful language you folks got over there.

BAD news from PG site, along with some good news, luckily,

"The Zu "Intermediate Spirit Receiver" CD which was scheduled to be released via PG, Fortissimo (UK) and dotlinecircle (Japan) will NOT be released. The band has decided to shelve the material at the moment. Zu and PG may work together in the future, but in the meantime, watch for their new album, "Carboniferous" to be out on Ipecac in Feb. 2009."

new song on myspace, coincidentally the same you can see/hear live in my youtube thingy.

Wondering if somebody could please reupload that one to Sendspace or re-seed it at some bittorrent tracker? I would pay the favour uploading whatever audio live recording from my collection.

Thanks in advance.

I will upload it on sendspace, HBP. Most probably this evening (GMT +2) or Monday morning.
Let me know if you get it from somewhere else in the mean time!

EDIT:
A dime seed will do the trick for you? Let me know!

Moshe 12.21.2008 05:54 AM

Hei HBJ, the original torrent had the 99.9% problem. A new fixed one is now up on dime. You may resume your download from 99.9%.
Here's the link: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-d....php?id=228393

Sorry for the mess!

expect some goodies from this :).
but I prefer to ask them for permission first, last time they said they didn't want to have too much new stuff "amde available" before the release dates...we'll see.

yeh, I sent a mail to Massimo asking if it is ok to tape the gig, last time he said it was better not to "share" the new songs too early, but it was a few months ago, this time it's the "album release gig", so hopefully he'll say yesss.

If not, well, expect some pics and perhaps a couple vids, hehe.

atsonicpark 01.11.2009 12:54 PM

THAT link I posted nearly a year ago is deeead.

nicfit 01.14.2009 05:59 AM

Got green light from Massimo, hopefully I won't miss the gig...kinda messy/busy period over here........

Italian avant-rock/jazz fusionists Zu are recording an album with Mike Patton on vocals. The trio have recently completed a short European tour with Patton and are planning to enter the studio for a full-length to be released by Ipecac. Speaking exclusively to Rock-A-Rolla, bassist Massimo Pupillo had this to say: “The plan is to have the next record on Ipecac, and [Patton] will be on some of the songs. We’ve done one song with the Melvins too.”
The full interview appears in the current issue of Rock-A-Rolla (#14)
