Laughing or giggling in songs
Can you name songs that have the singer laughing or giggling on them? I can think straight away of The Velvet Underground's 'Heroin' (more of a short sneering laughter than anything) or Christian Death's 'I Hate You'. Go.

Charles Penrose - The Laughing Policeman :)
|
There was a song by PTV, I think it was called 'White Nights' that featured Jim Jones' insane giggling on it.
|
Ha ha ha, hee hee hee, I'm the laughing gnome and you can't catch me!
D. Bowie esq. |
I'm not a huge fan of the Damned, but the song "These Hands" is fucking brilliant.
These Hands These are the hands of a demented circus clown Outside I’m laughing but inside I’m really wearing a frown I see you laughing at me But baby in my dreams Its quite a different scene Chasing you through the night with my hands oh virginess Funny how everything seems to make me colliette I find I’m laughing at you And if you are turning blue Ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha Ho ho hoStop laughing, Stop laughing! |

Flipper - Ha Ha Ha
|
Transparent Radiation - The Red Crayola
|
I'm not entirely sure but the echoing noise on Neu!'s 'Lilac Angel' sounds like somebody's laughter put through some reverb and echo. Another one is The Smiths' 'Suffer Little Children', even though it's not Morrisey doing the laughing.
|
Little Bit of Riff by Easy Now. My bandmate made me laugh hard at the end and we left it in. Also Carousel by Mister Bungle
|
Stereolab - International Colouring Contest
Duran Duran - Rio |

The start of "Over Over" from the latest Fall album starts with a particularly rancourous laugh. Also on the Peel version of New Puritan. That MES is a jolly fellow.
|
Ozzy - Crazy Train
Mercyful Fate - Nightmare There is a track on "A Sucked Orange" by Nurse With Wound that is pretty much only maniacal laughter layered on top of other maniacal laughter. I'm sure more will come to mind soon. |
The Spectral Presence- Is This a Test?
BTW I gotta upload that EP sometime. |
bob dylan starts giggling at his own words on all i really want to do, and at the beggining of bob dylan's 115th dream. and there is also that creepy laughing in the modest mouse song alone down there, thats all i can think off the top
|
you mean a spontaneous, "real" laughter or a "fake" one on purpose for the song.
|
It really doesn't matter.
|
oh, ok.
|
Afrirampo - Natsu Ga Kita
they laugh so hard in that song. It's actually the only Afrirampo song I like, and just because of the laughter. |
Kyra was a member of Thee Headcoatees.
On her solo album on Vinyl Japan (Here I Am, I Always Am), among Billy Childish songs, Electric Eels, Jacques Brel and Captain Beefheart covers is a track called Laughing Song. It's pretty short, 100% laughing-in-tune-if-she-can, and it ends in real laughter, with a mike falling to the ground. One I do enjoy. |
Feel Good Inc. - The Gorillaz
I Am The Walrus- The Beatles |
Zu+Teatro degli Orrori - "Fallo!"
|

I think theres some laughter in one of the songs from Chocolate Synthesiser by Boredoms, but as with alot of things on that album it could be coming from anywhere

When the drums kick in and the song starts. It sounds like some screaming or an echoing laughter. You hear that a little more in the background throughout the song because of the, erm, singing. I'm not terribly sure if it is actually laughter or screaming so I'll listen to it again and report back. |
Beach Boys - Barb(a)ra Ann

The opening track of Post Reformation TLC; "...they made such a fooss about givin' it t'me/ and I (ha)/ I spend more time getting it turned down".
There's probably more, but these spring readily to mind. |
