Drink Recommendations
 

I'm not much of a drinker - I have a very low tolerance for alcohol, and am rather picky about what I drink.

Social obligation requires alcohol consumption this evening, and seeing as all of you seem to have some kind of substance abuse problem, or wished they did, can anyone recommend a good drink? I'm not very knowledgeable in this department, and I would prefer something that isn't guaranteed to give me a hangover.

Absinthe nothing beats that stuff plus it's a poets drink.

to throw a monkey wrench in the cogs of the melodrama, i'd like to say good scotch whiskey is the cleanest drunkenness available, followed probably by vodka (not cheap rail vodka).

of course there is always no-alcohol beer. (some are actually not that awful)

I adore cider, but that gives me heinous heartburn. And I can't stand sweet drinks.

Ha. Actually, I find that good tequila doesn't produce such a bad hangover. But you're not likely to find that in most bars.

Bloody hangovers. You just have to love the taste of dried vomit crusted on your lips while you crawl to the nearest washing point.

oh let me hammer this again: all alcohol will give you hangovers. some more than others. but scotch or vodka are the cleanest drinks. do not drink sugary drinks, do not mix grain alcohol w/ fruit alcohol, and do not do use the fuckhead "tactic" of taking a tylenol before you go to sleep. tylenol + alcohol will fuck up your liver.

god, i feel like a parent giving lectures to my children on their first night out. guess my dad gave me good training ha ha ha.

How come when I drink even if it's loads I never get a hangover. I feel tired sure but that's it.

The world's three finest vodkas (which pretty much makes them the world's three finest spirits):

Wyborowa (pronounced 'vyborova'). From Poland, lovely stuff. I'm, listing it forst because it's probably the easiest of the three to obtain.

Zubrowka Bison Vodka. From Poland. Named after the 'bison grass' used in the distillation. Each bottle rather sweetly contains a bladde of the grass, and the overall effect is of vodaka withb a hint of tarragon or similar.

Altai. From SIberia, the best of the Russian vodkas.
