Good Internet Vinyl Stores

So far, I've only come across musicstack.com. What are some of your favorites?

Пятхъдесят Шест 05.24.2006 10:31 PM

Yod.

val-holla-ing 05.24.2006 10:33 PM

my own workplace has some vintage and recent goodies (apologies if this is seen as self-serving, but there is some cool stuff to be had for sure):

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.24.2006 11:42 PM

Insound is where I got Sonic Nurse from. They sent me a TV on the Radio poster in the mail too.

umjammer atomsk 05.24.2006 11:57 PM

Wow, thanks everyone. Rep will be distributed accordingly.

I didn't know you worked there! The last two times I was in Minneapolis I stopped in there and spent more money than I should have. It could possibly have been you! Though, one of the times, the guy was a real asshole.

I ate at the Indian resturant across the street...or catty corner from there, whatever somewhere near there. Good food.

Savage Clone 05.25.2006 12:16 AM

It wasn't me. I have only been involved online, and didn't work at the old store. Love that virtual buffer zone!

Something seems to be preventing the site from loading right now, but it shouldn't be down long. I was on it all day today.
Weird.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.25.2006 12:33 AM

I've probably made the most orders to www.dischord.com only dischord records, and they can be really super slow in delivery, but they are still awesome.

Style 05.25.2006 03:34 AM

Anyone ever shop at

http://www.vintagevinyl.com

I put in an order over the weekend and its still processing. (Fam sent a gc for my bday so I didnt have a choice).

terminal pharmacy 05.25.2006 03:45 AM

if they are on the internet they are not made of vinyl, but eil.com is a goodun

jon boy 05.25.2006 06:01 AM

volcanic tongue and yodd. i dont know if other music have?

Iain 05.25.2006 06:36 AM

Other Music do vinyl for sure. I got some NNCK lps from them and the shipping was cheap to the UK...although I think they may have got it wrong and under charged me on the shipping.

Also, for stuff of a similar type to volcanic tongue try these:

www.secondlayer.co.uk
www.apexonline.com/melodybar

jon boy 05.25.2006 08:14 AM

when i went in other music in new york my jaw almost hit the ground. you know what its like when you have been searching for something for a while, didnt want to just download it and there it is on the wall. nice shop.

finding nobody 05.25.2006 08:36 AM

that's weird, i pre-ordered lb's hypermagic mountain back in october, chose to send by surface for some reason that seamed logical at the time but it did arrive after like 2 months!!!

load, for some reason, jack their prices up on their website, you can actually buy load stuff on other stores for less.

also, good for noise/metal/harder stuff, try relapse record's store, they have an amazing catalog and they have sales all the time, http://shop.relapse.com/store/product.aspx

!@#$%! 05.25.2006 10:59 AM

i think they've been licking too many toads & have misplaced their order files; i think they are fucking thieves, not by ill will but by irreparable brain damage & neglect.

val-holla-ing 05.25.2006 11:11 AM

importantrecords.com is another really good site for goodies.

!@#$%! 05.25.2006 11:11 AM

oh yeah and important ships FAST!

Пятхъдесят Шест 05.25.2006 02:14 PM

I alomost forgot to mention RRR.

Iain 05.25.2006 02:53 PM

What is RRR like to order from? I have been meaning to get some stuff from there. Is the stuff listed actually in stock do you know? He seems cheap and has some stuff listed which is now quite scarce.

jon boy 05.25.2006 03:02 PM

rrr is actualy quite good. its very small but they endeavour to get you your stuff as quickly as possible.

Toilet & Bowels 05.25.2006 03:31 PM

most of the good ones have been mentioned, but i don't know if i saw anyone mention aquarius or forced exposure

Savage Clone 05.25.2006 03:36 PM

Forced exposure are good in some ways, but their fill rate is crap.
I ordered 3 LPs from them last week and got none.

Пятхъдесят Шест 05.26.2006 02:52 PM

I love to order from RRR, I've ordered probably six times from RRR and have only ran into one out of stock item (a Sissy Spacek cass. in case anyone was curious). Friendly and quick. And they like to recycle their packages.

I'm pretty sure he keeps the list updated.

golden child 05.26.2006 03:28 PM

RRR does quite well being run by only one guy, he is super nice too so if he does mess anything up you'll be compensated.

forced exposure's shipping rates are astronomical, at least the international ones, i was seeing about buying a free kitten 7" and shipping was like twice as much as the cost of the record. i remember checking aquarius out and finding expensive s&h prices as well.

Пятхъдесят Шест 05.26.2006 03:36 PM

Yeah, his posts on the iheartnoise message board are A+ too.

jon boy 05.26.2006 03:54 PM

i dont know if amoeba do it?

Пятхъдесят Шест 05.26.2006 03:59 PM

I thought Amoeba went through Revolver.

jon boy 05.26.2006 04:35 PM

amoeba

Iain 05.26.2006 06:16 PM

I thought RRR would be a pretty safe bet but I hadn't heard from anyone who had bought from there. He has a Pengo LP I'd quite like and also a Twig Harper LP I want. And cheap too.

Toilet & Bowels 05.26.2006 06:27 PM

stormy records is another good one.

trance feeeedback 05.26.2006 06:40 PM

yod is great for rare stuff, but their prices are fucking ridiculous! I once saw a floating flower album there for like $98.00.
e-bay is great place to find vinyl stuff, just watch out for the jerks who try to outbid you in the last minute.

almudeno69 06.19.2006 05:00 AM

General stores,second hand mainly:

www.gemm.com
