Dirty boots single
![]() the sound of the drums on this is fucking INSANE i hadn't been listening to it for a loooooong time wow just sharing some healhty enthusiasm:eek: Kim's singing also sounds pretty foxy and angry at the same time yummy |
Hmmmm, what would be the 5 live tracks on the single? - I'll have them somewhere, just not on a single.
|
I know one of those live tracks is, "The Bedroom". Which would later become "The Destroyed Room", but my opinion is the live version is the best out of the two.
|
u get
dirty boots, eric's trip, Cinderella, white kross and "The bedroom". Q = What do u do when yr mum is skinhead? A = (audience) FUCK HER!!!! (thurston) u write a song about it. |

http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/lp/ep22.html erm... SY has been offering the Dirty Boots ep for free sans "The Bedroom" (which used to be included for free) in the mp3 downloads section for awhile http://sonicyouth.com/archives/mp3-selector/index.html of course the whole show (w/o encores) circulates too... http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/cc/110390.html my fave "Dirty Boots" though has to be this one from Rome '92 http://soniclife.muxtape.com/ (selection #1) (second place is Hollywood Palladium '90 and third is Irvine '91) White Kross and The Bedroom are great versions on Irvine '91. |
This is the best live recordings I have really ever heard. And live recordings have come along way in 18 years.
Anyone have the full show? RanaldoNecro |
This has been on my to buy list for awhile
|
it's a good buy
|
When you stop and think about it, Dirty Boots is the closest the band has come to releasing a proper, official live album. They really should pull out all the stops, and reissue this as a full-length with a few other numbers from the Irvine concert as bonus tracks. The cover on this was really cool (Kim at her sexiest, and Thurston looks great with the long hair); they could keep it as is, merely changing the title in the black stripe to something like Dirty Boots Live. Even if they were to ditch the edited studio version of the title track, the title would still work, because there's a live version of that number included. (It would work a damn site better than The Destroyed Room does as a compilation title, given the absense of its namesake!)

has anyone got the other songs from the irvine show they want to send me?
=] thanks! |
I have this cd.
|
I bought hold that tiger with expectations but was saddended. This one would be great re-released...Esp White Kross

technically we have a live version of the entire DDN album so I'd say that IS a proper, official live album. |
i found this cd in a seond hand store, i always assuming it was a bootleg!!
a live album would be great. the DDN deluxe one is good, but it'd be great to have lots of the best live stuff from all their era's on a double cd or something. i'd buy that, and they look to be trying to make a bit of money just now. or for a specific date, the monster jamboree thing - that'd be awsome. although i don't think it is circulating on anything but vhs/youtube? |

i think i have the whole show, spread out over several different releases/bootlegs. apart from the official dirty boots single, most of the rest appears on the "dirty boots" bootleg, except for catholic block, but that's on some geffen promo compilation that i also have. i can upload all of it later this week. remind me in the weekend if i haven't done it yet by then. |
The live version of 'Catholic Block' on a Geffen promo compilation...? That one escapes me for the moment.
And yeah, I guess the Daydream Nation live bonus tracks would probably come the second closest to an official live album. I keep forgetting about those--I haven't picked up the deluxe edition yet. |
oops
the recording that circulated actually is not the whole show it's the show w/o encores though http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/cc/110390.htmlnever seen the two encore songs anywhere Aaron Mullan remastered the cherry-pickings for the Dirty Boots ep. http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/lp/ep22.html |
Pokkeherrie,
I would love the full show. But, if its not the same quality than maybe not becuase the singles is pristine quality. It would be great.. |

It's on this one: http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/lp/comp33.html The rest of the show is on this one: http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/lp/boot19.html ... except for The Bedroom, but that's already on the official Dirty Boots EP. Quote:
I think it's sourced from the same recording (FM-broadcast? soundboard?) as the official EP. Except the EP sounds better of course because it's professionally mastered unlike the bootleg. I'll have it up in a few days, but it'll take me a while to find the CDs I'm affraid. I don't think I've seen them in years. My place is such a mess that I can't find ANY CDs back, except for the ones I've recently bought... they'd be all in random piles on my desk. |
after you hear how fucking out of sync kim is with the rest of the band on "my friend goo", you'll wish you never heard the whole show.
ah she fixes it by the first chorus. not like that one version of JC.. you know the one. and 'be yr dog' w/ mudhoney is pretty awesome. k i take it back, the encore rules |
yeah, she messes that one up way beyond terrible... anyway, i found the bootleg but not yet the compilation. hang in there folks.
|
Here are the other tracks from the "dirty boots" bootleg and the "submerge yourself in sound" compilation:
http://www.badongo.com/file/9740803 (V0 mp3) this bootleg + this compilation + the dirty boots ep = the full show I'll put up FLAC-files later if there's interest for a lossless version. Sorry for those who don't like badongo, but I've tried to upload it on sharebee three times and failed. |
Amen...
Many thanks... Quote:

Hate to be a bitch but can someone uplaod Catholic Block mp3?
|
Quote:
I already did and it's on your hard disk, check again. |
Is there an encryption on it? The .ab file? I am having a hard time extracting the file...
|
No, it's not encrypted but it's Badongo that automatically does that with files over 100mb.
You have to download bot the .aa and the .ab file and then the merge-file (the .rar.bat file in the link below those two). then double-click on that .bat file and you get a normal .rar. But nevermind, I'll upload it to another site again because badongo is a bitch. |
pokkeherrie,
That was remarkably easy...Just followed the instructions. And to think I even bought Winzip this past weekend.... Bought it! The program nobody buys... |
Quote:
Thanks pokkeherrie i only read this thread yesterday and have just downloaded the mp3's, it would be nice to have the flac files but don't worry if it's too much trouble |
