http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...Ku7eyoBA&hl=en
Spray painted CDRs and Lathe cut 7" 's is the new emo |
he's gonna short out some equipment is he doesn't quit spitting on it.
|
I like how he qualifies his previous band name
Formerly Raperies (Like Draperies). |
he's gonna have a short career
|
that is some funny shit
|
thursday used to be good.
|
Quote:
sure for a watered down refused band |
thursday was miserable if you ask me.
|
I always wanted to like Thursday but for some reason, it didn't click.
This guy is a fucking joke by the way. Especially that story and the first bit where he's screaming. Lame. |
I don't understand. Is this a new attraction at Six Flags? The Haunted House?
|
I Will Second That Nusically Thursday Were Good

you mean refused, the metal nation of ulysses? don't act all pretentious, it doesn't fit your skin tone. |
This is funny. I had a laugh.
Everyneurotic let's listen to Madonna records so we can say fuck you to pretentious people. |
yeah!!!
open your heart to me, ba-by!! i'll hold the lock and you hold the key! |
Get into the groove boy
You got to prove your love to me. VOGUE!!! |
to me thursday was a better glassjaw, who were a worse taking back sunday, haha..
|
Are these like emo bands we are talking about? EEWW
|
in the grand scope of things, refused took a lot from nation of ulysses.
-the look -the politic rhetorics -the angular dischord-ness -the artwork they just were heavier and added electronics. thursday, they are not revolutionary or anything, they wrote very good songs. you can make the same case about refused. |
Wow, that was the fastest instance of curiosity to not giving a fuck I've ever had. I think I got wiplash.
|
i don't know what this is.
20 seconds in and I wanted to sleep. |
Why the fuck is this guy at Six fucking Flags Great America?
That is really some uncreative shit. Ouch |
Quote:
call my pretentous all you want, thursday blows dog nothing remotely good about this band at all/ |
oh and any band that has a sthick of reading letters allowed and crying pretty much is the worst of all time
|
and more more thing refused vs NOU...can trace this all the way back to crass buddy lets get real
but make up vs international noise conspiracy...yeah i agree with that |

I've been making the same argument for years, to the point where I've stopped making it because no-one has successfully cared. Thanks, internet-person, for re-iterating what I think! I feel validated. I'm downloading some Thursday now, because I've been meaning to for ages. EDIT: and, on-topic, I really like the idea of what this chap is doing, but unfortunately he's musically and emotionally inarticulate, which is a shame. |

wow i didnt know people bought into thursday, guess im missing something. awesome |
We are all pretentious by liking things pretentious people don't like. Get it?
|
Quote:
guess i dont but i like thursday now, ive learned my ways |
Quote:
you don't like them? good for you, doesn't mean everyone should hate them because you do. my point of you being pretentious, you proved with this post: Quote:
we can trace thursday to millions of other bands, your favorite band too. by the way, crass didn't dress like mods and had syncopated drumming under octave riffing. |
Quote:
awesome dude im glad im pretty sure those dudes werent thinking of crass or john coltrane or the beach boys when they wrote full collapse but you FTW! Enjoy yr thursday records dude, still glad 20 somethings can write 14 year old high school freshman lyrics. When you see them live get stoked for the crying letter gig they do, it rules. |
|
i liked thursday for like 6 months back in the end of 2001 and the beginning of 2002. i just lost interest and then months later i saw a video of their live show and that sold me on how much they suck. they are still still better than almost every single band that copied them after they got big.

you remind me of myself like 3-5 years ago when i was just a complete music snob and made fun of anything and everybody that i thought liked shit. i was listening to a lot of shit also at that time. i think i have aged well though. |
no ones making fun of anything, i have no problem saying if i think the music you like is shitty, and I hope people do the same for me. I believe most of what I listen to isnt shit, but thats just me

Music is art; it is not behooven of fidelity, truth or some sovereign reality. I'm far too late to be getting into Thursday, and until that link was posted I don't think I've heard a note. I'm going to give it a listen, because some people I know like it. I'm not impressed by anyone laying into Herr Neurotic; he's got one of the most ridiculously broad tastes and doesn't seem capable of not listening to things (he's not the only one like that round here). He's fond of some stuff that I think is absolutely abysmal, but he also strikes me as being one of the most agenda-less listeners I've ever encountered. You'd do well to take a leaf from his book. |
Quote:
i'm not saying you are, but you do come off as snobby. |
nation of ulysses was great, realllllly fucking great. no me gusta refused.
|
but yeah, i was a snob for a while. but then i found all my records from when i was like 12-13, like slipknot, deftones, etc.., and realized even that shit had some good sounds in there. now ill even go on my sistor's itunes to find whatever good pop is out there these days. theres good and bad shit from all different styles of music. ill listen to justin timberlake just as much as ill listen to whitehouse, depending on the mood. music rules. fuck arguing about preferences in pop culture, like ive said a million times, theres nothing i hate more than people taking personal offence to someone not liking a bad theyre into, or liking a bad theyre not into.
|
nothing wrong with deftones, slipknot uh no thanks dude
thursday still sucks and if im snobby thats fine by me |
