I can't wait to open this can of worms, because I'm sure a bunch of you are gonna just post about how much Ryan Adams sucks (atsonicpark, I'm looking at you). But whatever, I'm a big fan. Anyway, I went to his site this morning and it was streaming this:

I'm actually a pretty huge fan, and dont give an F what the snobs think. I like it all; the Whiskeytown stuff, the folksy albums, the rocky albums, whatever. I think he's a hell of a songwriter. I'm still trying to find the SEPTEMBER dvd.

really like the double album with the cardinals. this blue one, cant remmeber the damn name right now.
and yes he is an awesome songwriter with a lot of output. no year without at least one adams release

COLD ROSES. My fav on there is "If I Am A Stranger." Incredible. There was also an acoustic version on FOLLOW THE LIGHTS from last year.

Yeah, supposedly the 20:20 boxset was supposed to come out this year, but seems to have fallen off release schedule YET AGAIN. But there was already the Deluxe reissue of Whiskeytown's STRANGERS ALMANAC which is bursting with amazing outtakes. And there's supposed to be a new album with the Cardinals by the end of the year called CARDINALS III/IV (which could indicate that it's another double album?)

yeah cold roses. that packed with incredible melodies and its overall production sounds really really good. easy plateau is one of these sunday songs I think

I read an interview with him once where he said Polvo were one of his all time favorite bands. That's cool.

Yeah, I remember some interview, he mentioned Polvo, Galaxy 500, Wipers, and a few other surprisingly good bands that he was into. Shocked me. Listened to his music and thought it sucked BALLS.

He's on and off. He can be completely brilliant and amazingly shit. Whenever he does more commercial stuff he completely loses me...New York New York, most of Easy Tiger and Rock N' Roll, but he's also got some real winners.

Oh yeah I should note for atsonicpark that one of his first bands were very Polvo-ish, though mixed with some slowcore...they were called Lazy Stars. Neat little album if you can find it, though it's mastered super shitty.

Oh, and if nothing else, Ryan Adams loves 45 Grave. I in turn must love Ryan Adams.

Picked up easy tiger on clearance at target for about 4 bucks at target a few weeks ago, it was the last one. I guess they had overstocked.

Weird, that sounds pretty interesting, I should check it out.

EDIT: After finding it and relistening to it, it sounds more like Galaxie 500 than Polvo. Not mathy enough. Still neat. I'm up-ing now.
